III

you walked into glee club as a wave of anxiety and excitement went over and through you. rory might come. he was adorable. the familiar smell of the choir room calmed you, unlike the extremely unnecessary amount of perfume rachel had sprayed. she was doing warmups while finn was playing the drums for her. 

man, did she take glee club seriously.

  you sat down in a chair next to kurt, who was next to blaine. you honestly loved seeing the two of them together - they were so good for each other. kurt's unique sense of style along with blaine's.

  mr schue walked in the classroom. "y/n, you had someone coming today?" you looked back up at him nervously, and stopped fiddling with your fingers. "y-yeah, i guess so. if he ever comes." mercedes looked back at you, smirking. you blushed and turned away from her, as you could practically hear what she was going to say later. "y/n's bringing a boy into glee club- he must be special." and kurt joins in.

  the glee club waited a few minutes after the bell rang, but rory didn't seem to come. "okay then, class- lets get started on rehearsals. we've got some time before sectionals, but it'd be great to get some new members before we really get into rehearsing. and y/n, make sure to get that boy of your's to come tomorrow, because he sure isn't here now." you open your mouth to say something, but before you could let words out, someone slides into the doorway leaving you in shock.

  "actually, i'm right here." his accent gave you immediate butterflies as you realized who it was. he looked at you and smiled, to which you smiled back. he shook mr schuester's hand. "i'm rory flanagan, y/n's friend. i'm an irish exchange student."

  "nice to meet you, rory. now here, show us watch you got." mr schue replies, a smile on his face.

  rory takes a deep, nervous breath as he meets eyes with you. he then begins to sing bein' green by kermit the frog.  (* just pretend because it was in the show im not writing the lyrics here *) his voice shocked you. he was for sure getting into the club. his singing voice was incredible.

  you heard rachel tap finn and whisper in his ear "he's magical." you giggle at her comment, and once rory finishes, you immediately clap for him. "well, welcome to glee club, rory!" mr schue smiles. rory takes a seat next to you in an empty chair. you smile at him, which he returns, before turning back to the lesson.

  once glee club wrapped up, mr schue mentioned that there would be a duet contest due in three days. since there was now an even number of members, everyone could have a duet partner. once the bell rang, you tapped rory on the shoulder as he turned to look at you. you wanted to get him before anyone else could. "whaddya say, be my partner?" you look at him. he flashes you a small smile, and says yes. you hand rory your phone number on a piece of paper, so you could discuss plans outside of school.

  "facetime later?" he asks. you nod, pulling your backpack over your shoulders and turning down the hallway. "sure thing, mr leprechaun." you watch as his face lights up, and you turn away. once out of his sight, you smile to yourself.
