Searching / Restless

It was Friday, the end of school week. Joohyun was having lunch in the cafeteria. Seulgi had joined the dance club finally and was happily telling her and Wendy about her experience. Joohyun was only half listening to her go on about how amazing and talent the seniors are and how nice they were to her.

Joohyun was thinking about yesterday and how Taehyung didn't come through with his promise. She was going over what he had said that day, over and over again. Analysing every word. Did she make a mistake in understanding him? "I'll see you tomorrow", he had said. Did he mean he will come see her or was it just a casual, I'll see you in class? She was starting to believe it was the latter, and that she had deluded herself by reading too much into it.

Yesterday, she had waited for Taehyung. She had seen him leave with Bogum during the lunch break. She had gone to check for him in his usual hangout after having lunch, but he wasn't there. She debated whether to wait for him there, but in the end she thought it just made her look desperate. So she had gone back to the class, thinking if he were to look for her, this would be the easiest place.

But he hadn't looked for her. It was only after the break had ended that she saw him again, coming back to class, still busily chatting with Bogum. So she had assumed he was busy with something, thinking he'd come for her after the school ends. But she was disappointed once again. She had seen him leave the class but he wasn't in the club room as she had expected. Now she was feeling stupid for waiting for him and for assuming things.

"Taeyeon sunbae is so good....", Seulgi continued. "Huh?" Joohyun suddenly comes back to the present after hearing Taeyeon's name, wondering how Seulgi knew about her. Wait a minute...how had she not made the connection yet!? Taeyeon unnie was in the dance club and now, so was Seulgi! It made perfect sense for them to know each other. Seulgi who was saying, "....she's perfect in ballet and contemporary too...", suddenly stops to look at Joohyun's surprised expression.

"What?" Seulgi was looking at her curiously. "Well...I happen to know Taeyeon sunbae."

"What!?" Seulgi yells. "You're telling me you know my dance club's leader!?"

"U-um, yes." "How!?" Seulgi looks at her in disbelief. " Well, we used to be neighbours back in Daegu."

"I can't believe this! How do you know all these people? First, the artist Kim Taehee turns out to be your aunt and now the dance club's leader, Taeyeon sunbae is your neighbour!?" Seulgi looks baffled. It was understandable, considering all these coincidences.

Joohyun just shrugs, not having an explanation. "Omg, you've got to introduce me to her! Dance club is meeting in few minutes from now. Come on!"

Joohyun couldn't refuse her and spent rest of the break watching Seulgi practice, after introducing her to Taeyeon. Seulgi was surprised to know from Taeyeon, that Joohyun took ballet lessons as a kid, though she quickly informed her she only went for a few months and was not very good at it. Taeyeon urged Joohyun to join the club too, saying she can do really well with some practice, but she politely refused saying it's not for her.

During the last class, she receives a text from Wendy, saying they are planning on going to a karaoke place after school. Since it was weekend the next day and she didn't have any other plans that day, she agreed.
