After that point in time when I admitted some stuff to Kai without telling him how I knew it was him in the red gi (five minutes ago), the spiky haired boy was taking me to to his home, the ninja secret headquarters. I just needed some time to cool off from the events of this evening. Kai's dragon disaparated, and he caught me in his arms. At the "halfway point" to secret headquarters. I gripped onto Kai's arm as he lead me through the forest. The boy didn't seem to mind me though. But he probably just saw me as a weird sister to him. Nya probably did this a lot when she was younger. I used to do it to... to... to... to Henry. Why did I suddenly blank on that?
"So, how long do you need? I can probably get them to let you stay as long as you need. It's just that... we're all basically sons (and daughter) of our senseis and Misako, but me more than any of the others. Seeing as I'm closer to Lloyd, the only actual blood relative of them. Just know we're not safe from teasing or embarrassment." Kai warned me.
He took his mask off his face, and I saw droplets of sweat on his brow. I've never seen the red ninja without his mask on. To see Kai's face with the red ninja gi on his body. And I now understand why he's got the "hot" ninja in more ways than one. Granted he was the flirt of the ninja force. And the number one favorite of middle school fangirls. And the number one ninja to appear in middle school fanfiction. But Red had never been my favorite. Nor White. Blue. Black. Green especially. No. Actually, I've always been a fan of the Water Ninja. And Nya knee that. Oh my fucking god! Nya knew that! Nya's the water ninja! I hate my life.
"It would have been the same if you took me home. Although, Mom would have scorched you and then teased me about it. Mom is the Evil Queen. Momma is my birth mother. Just for future reference." I told him.
"Noted. And you think I need future reference?" He did a weird eyebrow dance at me.
I smacked his shoulder, and he just let out a laugh. Man, his laugh is cute. Technically he's always been cute. Kai continued to lead me through the forest, his hand rested in mine. And before I knew it, we came across the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. The Legendary Monastery. The one where Lord Garmadon, his wife, Misako, and Lloyd lived to execute evil plots, ploys, and plans. I guess the rest of them live here too. That's cool. I guess.
"Welcome to my home!" Kai exclaimed, pointing at the gate.
"Now, I feel bad for never inviting you over." I told him.
"Don't sweat it. I only invited you over because I think you need a much needed time out from your family. Not that I've never wanted to invite you over before." He muttered the last bit, but I still heard him.
And with that, we walked on into his home. He led me through the doors before we sneaked towards somewhere. And by sneaked, I meant he tried to get passed anyone that might have been walking around for us to not get caught while he held onto me in piggyback formation. Like InuYasha jumping through buildings with Kagome or Sango on his back. Why were we sneaking around his home? No clue. Whenever I try to ask, he always shushes me. I learned pretty quick to shut up and just hold onto the boy tighter. Kai stopped, well being a sneaky ninja, once we got to a part of the monastery where it looked to be some kind of living quarters. Kai sat me down on my feet, but he pushed me quickly down a hallway before we got to a door. A red door. Subtle. Not. Kai rummaged in his pocket before picking up a collection of keys. They have keys for their rooms? Or was this more of a Kai thing? Actually, it seems more like a Nya or Cole thing. Possibly enforced by the Earth Ninja (Cole) when he was team leader. Kai pulled out a red key (subtle) and used it to unlock his door.
