Chapter 5

"Lesson two" unmei shouts out as she looks down into the hole that Ichigo and Tessai were both sitting in "right now you are in the shattered shaft, as Tessai likes to call it, but you can just call it a giant fricken hole like me if you want"

"at the bottom of the shattered shaft, you have 72 hours or three days before the chain has completely encroached. you must come back up here as a soul reaper before the time is up" Kisuke says as he stands next to his daughter at the top of the hole and looks down "otherwise we will have to kill the hollow that you have became" 

"you bastards, do you really intend to kill me?" Ichigo growls as he looks up at his trainer and her dad 

"oh yes" kisuke smirks "when you give up" 

Kisuke turns to his daughter and the two of them sit down cross-legged at the entrance of shattered shaft.

"do you think he will be able to do it," kisuke says as he looks towards Unmei

"He is strong. I just wish that I knew the training method to help him get it all under control and use all of his powers without going through all of these dangerous methods, it would save him a lot of trouble. I believe that in the future it will try and take over him, I want to help him make sure that it doesn't happen. He is strong, father, I haven't seen someone like him in hundreds of years, he holds a lot of potential. so yes, I think that he will be able to do it" Unmei says as she stares down at the boy with bright orange hair who was beginning to freak out as he starred at the chain that was attached to his chest

"it's alive" Ichigo yells in fear as he watched the encroachment begin to eat itself, he let out a cry of pain and fell to the ground 

"figure out the pattern Ichigo, then use it to your ability and find a way to get out. Stay calm and find the weakness, don't be irrational, just find the weakness, this is what you must do in battle" Unmei yells down into the hole.

Ichigo noticed that the pain stopped when the encroachment went to sleep after the first few times and began to try and run up to the top of the hole but fell down each time

Ichigo let out grunts of frustration as he slid back onto the floor and laid there

"You can do it Ichigo, just stay calm and think it out" Unmei yells "then use all of the power you have to win" 

Ichigo slowly stood up with a scowl on his face and stared at the wall for a moment before charging at it at full speed but after a few metres he fell back down to the ground with a loud scream 

"That kid makes no sense," Jinta says as he looks down at Ichigo "the method is reckless, but he is managing to climb about three metres up this virtually straight wall" 

"oh, my, my" Kiskue says and hides behind his fan 

"What an idiot," Ururu says and Unmei just lets out a long sigh as she held faith in the boy

"Let's go get lunch and then come back to check how he is going" kisuke states and then stands up and brushes himself off

"I should probably stay here and watch over Ichigo," Unmei says and turns towards her father

"He will be fine, besides, there is something that i need to talk to you about, involving the soul society,"kisuke says

Unmei looks down at Ichigo and then back over to her father and lets out a soft sigh and itches the back of her head "I guess half an hour should be fine"

Kisuke smiles and they all begin to walk back up the ladder towards the sweet shop so that they could eat something for lunch. Jinta looked at the ladder but then stopped and walked back over to the hole "I think I'm gonna stay here for a while"

"ok Jintty, ill put some leftovers in the fridge for you" Unmei smiles and follows after her father 

"dammit" Ichigo mumbles as he laid on the ground, completely out of breath

"Hey!" Jinta yells out "Arent you getting hungry yet"

"Im not! besides I'm in soul form!" Ichigo yells back "why would I get hungry" 

"that's good, ill tell you something interesting" Jinta states "when you start to feel hungry while you are in soul form, it's a dangerous sign that you are just one step away from becoming a hollow"

"Huh?" Ichigo asks in shock and his eyes shoot open in worry as he looks up to the top of the hole where Jinta was peaking his head over

"its ok to feel thirsty though," Jinta yells out "and if you do get thirsty, you can go ahead and drink my spit"

"why you," Ichigo growls as Jinta begins to drool over the hole and then notices that Ururu had come back down from lunch "oy, Ururu, you should come to do it too"

"right" ururu states and then begins to copy Jintas actions 

"Hey, come on down here, you brats" Ichigo yells as he tries to dodge their falling spit"

"What was it that you wanted to talk to me about," Unmei asks as she brings a spoon of rice to her mouth

"when in the soul society, what form will you be taking on," kisuke asks

"Im going in the form that lady Yoruichi taught me when I was younger, it will help me cover basically all of my spiritual pressure and I probably wouldn't be recognized since I didn't use the form back in the soul society" Unmei replies nd continues to happily munch on her food 

"take care of yourself and the others" Kisuke tells her but he already knew that she would. She would die a million times before letting someone get away with hurting the people that she cared about, she loved, trusted and forgave people to easily and Kisuke knew that that was going to be the downfall of his daughter, but he couldn't change it.

"of course father, I will do my best" Unmei smiled "look after Ururu and Jinta while I'm gone, and obviously yourself and Tessai"
