Xanun walked through the halls of Ashtanshire. The halls he had become all too familiar with ever since the first day of Miranda's imprisonment.
He was holding a stone slab which serves as a tray for the demon flesh he's carrying. He went down to the dungeons reminiscing about the time when he first captured her. The feeling of satisfaction when he got his revenge on Atlas for imprisoning him by locking away someone he cared about in a separate dimension which he can never set foot in.
"Miranda," he called out while descending down the stairs. "I brought you some food."
He looked at her cell. Her empty cell. The green forcefield that was connected by the adjacent stalagmites had been disabled. Miranda wasn't in her containment. She has escaped!
Xanun immediately rushed towards the cell, throwing the stone slab tray and littering the floor with food that was originally meant for the prisoner.
His heart started to beat faster. She had really gone. How? No one would ever be so foolish to come to Ashtanshire and disable the barrier to let her out.
"No!" His raging fist punched one of the stalagmites so hard it was broken in half. "Nooooo!"
Xanun calmed himself down. He had to think clearly. Whoever let her out, it didn't matter. What matters now is finding her, and making sure she doesn't wreak any further havoc.

First off, thank you. Just thank you.
When I first started Of Angels and Demons, I intended to make it a standalone novel without any continuation. But since it's quarantine and I got nothing much to do, I decided to actually write a sequel and narrate what happens next. I never thought I'd make it this far. I can't thank you enough for all your support.
I'll be taking a break from writing for some time, now. But just because I'm not writing, doesn't mean I'm inactive. Feel free to leave comments and vote.
I dedicate this chapter to you, the one reading this. I really hope you enjoy the story. Keep doing what you're doing. God bless you all!
