We Were Destined to be together

Part XII

What a day it was. It wasn’t as bad as I thought to be. The one thing I missed for sure was Prtaiksha's smile and our banter but I guess I have to deal with this thing. I need to move on with my life and Shweta is a wonderful girl. We chatted for long in the night too and she seems to be a fun loving girl. The meetings increased and we were now comfortable with each other. My mother popped the question of marrying Shweta after a month of knowing each other. It came as a shock to me as I was not ready for it. Any guy would be lucky to marry her but there was something stopping me to say yes. Not something it was a person and I knew it too well. I am still in love with her and I can't marry anyone right now. I was silent for a while. My mother knew my answer was still the same. She just smiled at me and said, 'If you love Pratiksha so much why don't you confess it to her? Shock will be an understatement when I heard this. I knew my mother knows me inside out but I wasn't expecting this. I just cried in her lap for sometime and went to my bedroom.
My phone rang. It was her. I wiped my tears and composed myself.

Aks:- Hi! How you doing?

Pra:- Guess what am I going to tell you?

Aks:- What now? I'm in no mood of some prank.

Pra:- What made you think I would call you at 10:30 to discuss some prank? I am going to propose Rahul tomorrow.

I was numb for a moment. I wasn't feeling a thing not even my own heart beat. It felt my world collapsed and i couldn't do anything. I knew it was going to happen but I was still not prepared for this. I gathered my pieces and said

Aks:- That's great.

Pra:- Isn't it? I was thinking about it from few days. You know how shy Rahul is. I will be 70 when he will propose me for marriage so not delaying it further I've decided to take the next step. I've to make arrangements and you need to help me. Meet me in my vanity after the shoot. We will discuss everything. Ok? Akshat are you there??

Aks:- Yes yes I'm here only. I was surprised to hear this. I'm happy for you. I will surely help you in whatever ways I can.

Pra:- I knew it that's why I called you first. I love you Akshat. Without you my life would have been a mess. Ok you sleep now we will talk tomorrow. Bye.

I was devastated. Nothing hurts you more than one sided love. I wasn't able to breathe. Wish her I love you carried the same meaning. I cried the whole night. Even thought of ending my life but that was stupid. I didn't know when i fell asleep on the wooden floor only to be awaken up by sun rays coming through the windows. I watched the clock and it shows 11:10 A.M. I was super late for shoot. I checked my phone. 23 missed calls and 124 messages. All from one person.

Aks:- Hey I'm really sorry. I was watching a movie last night and I slept at almost 4.

Pra:- Is this a time to come? The whole schedule got messed up because of you. I needed to pack up before 5 so I could go on my plannings with Rahul but thanks to you I won't be able to get out of here before 9.

Aks:- I know I'm so sorry. I can make up for all this. We will pack up by 6 and then I will help you. You won't be late for anything trust me. Just give me one chance.

Pra:- Ok fine. Let's see what magic can you do within so much little time.

Finally we packed up by 6 and we went straight to the restaurant which was booked for the proposal. Arrangements were almost done just some detailing was pending. I took the responsibility and everything was finished before 8. I finally sighed a relief as Pratiksha turned normal. She was looking at the arrangements with full admiration. The white orchids were decked up and the aroma of the room was enchanting. I was in awe of her. She looked much more beautiful than the arrangements and if I were Rahul I would have said yes just by looking at the beautiful face.

Pra:- Thank you so much Akshat. I love you soooo much.

And with that she engulfed me in a bone crushing hug. Her hands were wrapped around around my neck and she started to curl up her fingers in my hair. My nostrils were filled up with her perfume and i stood still for a moment. Somehow i lifted up my hands and wrapped them around her slender waist. She pushed herself closer to me as I can feel her moist lips on my neck. I was not able to control myself and as a reflex action my head buried itself in her neck feeling her all over me. Our hug was a long lasting moment. She parted as I was not ready to let go of her. Her hairs on my face and our lips just inches apart. I would have kissed her if she didn't create some distance by moving back. My beautiful moment was over and reality hit me when her phone rang.

Pra:- Hey baby. Oh you are here. Just wait outside. I'm coming.

Aks:- Well I should go. All the best.
