Ronald woke up at dawn, not in his bed but on the couch. He was startled as Pigwidgeon crashed right into the window. Grudgingly, he unlocked the window so the wretched bird could bolt in. The hasty freezy breeze made him shiver, the weather of December finally settling in. He resolved it was wise to keep the window closed. The boy tugged at his hair strands when he recalled yesternight's occurrences. Part of him wanted to apologize to Hermione, but his ego possessed him from doing the correct thing.

Contrasting to the spirit of Christmas, Ron decided to proceed with a juvenile plan. "That pretentious Malfoy will regret intimidating me." He knew he'd fail yet was too obstinate to let matters resolve peacefully.

Arthur kept peeking at the clock as he prepared himself for work. His senses kept slipping back to yesterday. He knew he should have moderated the situation as soon as Ron taunted Hermione. He dreaded that divulging the reality about Draco would have escalated the situation. Moreover, he couldn't make such a decision hastily, especially without consulting Molly first. He was conflicted with his judgment.

"Arthur, honey, what are you thinking?"

"Molly! Mornin'. Just thinking about introducing a mobile phone in the wizarding world." Arthur smiled as he turned back to pick up his tie. Molly chuckled and went downstairs. As she passed the corridor, she noticed Ron roaming around the kitchen with a scowl on his face. Her mood slightly dampened, and she went to prepare Turkey. After all, Andromeda and Teddy were going to visit today.

The entire house woke up within the next several minutes, hustling everywhere. Theo and Blaise loudly slammed on the bathroom door, which had been occupied by Draco for the past 30 minutes.

"Drake, get out! I gotta freshen up, man."

Draco groaned inside, asking for a few minutes, and Theo sighed against the doorframe. Seconds later, Draco yanked the door open, dubiously allowing Theo to trip over and fall on him.Theo cried, "Seriously, one might think to tell others of opening the door." He quickly stood up and took a few steps back.

"How was I supposed to know you were leaning against it, damn it!" Draco clutched his back, traumatized from a person crash landing on him. He twisted his waist as he got up, stretching his muscles to relieve stress.

"I swear to Merlin, what took you so long?"

Draco looked away and quietly responded, "I was styling my hair." Blaise took this opportunity to lock the lavatory, taking Theo by surprise.

"Zabini! It was my turn."

Blaise chuckled from the other side of the door, "You know what they say. The early bird gets the worm. I'll take 15 minutes, so you go find another stall, Nott."

Despite the harsh cold, the sun was shining bright, bringing warmth to the wizards inside. Draco stumbled into the kitchen, looking for some calming tea. The sound of pouring resonated in the room. Draco saw the steam from the tea rising upwards until it vanished under the sunlight.
