Enthralling Imperfections
Chapter Six
~
I pressed the remote control's off button. The television screen went black and I stood up from the sofa.
"Coming!" I shouted I got irritated by the doorbell's ringing sound. I rubbed my hands on my eyes and stretched my arms, I opened the door and found my best friend, Arliane, on the doorstep wearing a white sleeveless shirt with flowers on it's brim inside a gray cardigan, her favorite skinny denim pants with American flag designed pockets at the back, VANS designed with dozen of scattered stars, white small sling bag which she hangs on her shoulder, and her hair was in a fishtail braid, but hers was going sidewards.
"Goooooooooooooooood Morning!" She greeted. I looked at our wall clock and read "6:00." Arliane was truly devoted to her job being "The alarm clock."
"Seriously now?" I groaned as I let her in and closed the door. I think my mom heard the doorbell rang also because she was running downstairs.
"Good Morning, Mrs. Havelock." Arliane smiled. My mom stopped and looked at Arliane.
"Oh, Arliane the alarm clock. It's you." My mom joked as she took the last few steps down.
"Yeah! It's me!" Arliane cheered as she pointed at herself.
"And please, call me mom, since you're Zarah's bestfriend, I'm your mom too now, got it?" Mom winked.
"Got it!" Arliane approved.
"You girls do whatever you want and I'll go cook breakfast." My mom said as she headed to the kitchen. Arliane and I went upstairs to my bedroom, Arliane threw her bag on my bed and lied down like it was her own.
"Don't ruin your braid!" I commanded. "It's perfect!" I added.
"Of course it is! Everything I do is perfect." Arliane said, still lying on my bed, rummaging her bag for her Iphone.
"I won't argue, since our argument would lead to nothing." I said. I grabbed my towel and headed to the shower.
"I would just go take a shower." I told Arliane which was getting busy on her phone. I can't tell whether she was in Twitter or something.
"Hmmm." Arliane said. I opened our bathroom door and stripped my clothes off. I let the cold water ran down my body. I can't shake my dream from my head and I let it continue to bother me.
"Why would Zayn be at our house?" "I'm not even somebody from his life, well yeah, except from the fact that I am his and his bandmates' fan." "Would we be bestfriends?" "Or lovers?" "Or what?" "Are we really going to kiss before the doorbell rang?" "Or maybe there was just something on my face?" "Or maybe we are really going to kiss?" I asked myself these questions and got no answers. I finished and stepped out of the shower. I went out to my bedroom and saw Arliane, still busy with her phone. I headed to my dresser. I opened it and was greeted by clothes that are, well, tortured.
"Joanne's coming here." Arliane let me know, I think she heard my dresser's door open.
"Okay." I said as I searched for right clothes to wear. I wore my black strapless bra and knickers. I do not care if Arliane sees me naked because I already have seen her naked-because of a dare so, stop thinking dirty things.
I heaved whatever my hand touched. I looked at what I've pulled from my dresser and saw my black shirt with a big skull design wearing an american flag bandana. I chose from my shorts and pulled a blue high-waisted one with false spikes near it's front pockets. I squeezed into my shorts. Again. The thought of mine going up and down on the stairs last night was just a total waste of effort, nothing really happened with my thighs-as if.
