You walk into Ethan's personal office one night after your shift, to talk to him about the competition in Book One. Your talking but the conversation quickly turns to him subconsciously finding out what it feels like to fall in love. He asks to be excused for a moment and steps outside his office and goes to the nearest vending machine. "fuck." He whispers to himself as he slips his dollar bill into the machine, he selects 2 chocolate bars and heads back to his office. His once calm demeanor now chaotic. He hands you a chocolate bar, you accept it looking confused. He sits down and grabs a piece of paper and writes something down on it, folds it and gives it to you telling you to look at it once you get home. You finish your conversation as you munch on your chocolate bars. At some point in time he completely lets his barriers down and is laughing and joking with you about stupid viral videos you're showing him. As you start to yawn you notice the time and head home after saying goodbye. But before you leave he stops you and gives you a hug and some words of encouragement. You thank him and go home, smiling all the way. When you het home and into your room, you take out the note and read it "I'm falling for you, Rookie. Stay away closer" and a phone number. You text it "What? Ethan Ramsey doesn't do love? 😉" chuckling to yourself, you put your phone on charge and get ready for bed. Never reading his reply until the next morning, which reads "For you. I can make an exception."
