Chapter Eighteen: Chasing Punishment

Y/n Pov. 

"Is it time for me to kill you all yet?" Freed says this while holding his blade near his mouth. This was an ex-exorcist of the church and the same guy who smacked Asia. I'm not a fan of the guy but I did pay him back by knocking one of his teeth out. 

I had my gauntlet out and was in a defensive stance awaiting his move. Kiba pull out his sword, Koneko just had her fists and Saji pulled out his Sacred Gear, Absorption Line. The little thing looked like a small lizard attached to his hand, it was on his left. 

Now Saji sent out a line which Freed tried to counter, but to no avail, as it wrapped itself around one of his legs. Saji then yelled at Kiba to get him as it wasn't going to keep him down. Kiba responded "My Pleasure!" He then charged at Freed, who looked unimpressed. 

"When you compare your little pathetic demon sword to my Excalibur . . . THERE'S NO CONTEST!" They then clashed swords but as swift as air Freed sliced Kiba's blade with ease. It nearly took Kiba's head to which I knew I had an idea. I began boosting my power three times to be exact. Kiba tried once again but Freed broke the second blade Kiba conjured. 

I turn to Koneko and asked "Distract Freed while I get to Kiba." She nods as she picks and throws two garbage cans. I began sprinting towards Kiba keeping my gaze on Freed. I then yell out to Kiba to "Kiba tag me in!" He nods as I land behind him and tap his back.

"Transfer!"

Power surges through Kiba as his pupils glow green "SWORD BIRTH!!" He then stabs the ground as the alley is enveloped with swords. The cans had distracted Freed enough to the point that the swords caught him off guard. To keep a distance Kiba jumped and stabbed his sword into the wall. He then summoned more blades and threw them at Freed to keep him at bay. 

"DAMNED DEMONS!!!" He screamed as he began shattering every blade in the vicinity. In the blink of the eye he disappeared. Kiba and I quickly spotted him running against the walls. Trying to sneak attack us, Saji yanks him down and begins absorbing his power. 

"This  . . . .! It's leeching my power!" He says trying to kick off the line. "Nice job Saji. Hold him still!" He gives me a thumbs up but struggles as he can't hold him back. 

He then shouts as Kiba "Kiba! I'd like to kick the shit out of this guy myself, but I can't risk it! I'll hold him down for you, SO TAKE YOUR SHOT!!!"

Preparing his attack Kiba creates two more blades "Not quite how I wanted to do this, but he's right. There's two missing Excalibur's left . . . might as well take what I can get!"

Mocking Kiba Freed says "You sure about that? If you kill me, you wont be able to have these super-satisfying Excalibur battles anymore, you know?" Kiba grits his teeth at Freed's words, until suddenly a mysterious voice is heard from the roofs.

"Oho, it's the Sword Birth Boy." We all turn to see an older man in a bishop outfit. Freed then exclaimed "Old man Valpa, Huh?" Kiba's gaze turn to that of pure hatred, anger and agony. This was the man who caused Kiba so much pain and heartache. "Valper. . . . .GALILEL!"

The bishop glanced at Kiba "In the flesh. Freed. . . What do you think you're doing?" He then looked over to Freed who was shaking his leg trying to remove Saji's line. "OLD MAN! THIS STUPID LIZARD TONGUE IS GETTING TO BE A PROBLEM!" 

The bishop just shook his head at the exorcist "What an immature Excalibur user you are. Use the Sacred Element you've been granted." Holding the blade to the sky, the sword began to glow "Yeah, Yeah!" He then snapped the line with ease forcing Saji off his balance.
