Izzy stands there in silence. Shock. Surprise. Fear.

Rafe simply smiles, a sweet smile— a fake one that she could see right through. He take a single step towards her in which she responds with a step back, "Stop."

He smirks and scoffs, "Are you still mad about what happened that one time?" He walks closer, "Iz, I've told you before and I'll say it again—"

Putting her hand out in front of her, she takes in a sharp breath, "Don't come any closer."

"Bella—"

"Do NOT call me that again." Izzy yells, staring him down from a couple feet away, paralyzed in fear. She lets out a shaky breath and places her arms across her chest, insecure and uncomfortable at the sight of a boy who only brought back terrible memories.

Back when Izzy first moved to the island, she had to find a way to make money. While she was crashing at John B's house with Big John, she felt the need to repay them for their kindness. So she worked as a part time maid at the Cameron's house. Since the first day that she started work, Rafe immediately found an admiration for her.

To him, she was strange. Strangely attractive.

He liked her nature. How she acted, the way she talked, or smiled— although it was never at him. But he wanted to change that.

For the next year, he tried everything to try to get to know her. Where she came from, why she was working for them, why she was living with John B, why she clung to JJ so much... and why he wasn't enough for her.

However, she never spoke a word to him. She'd heard the horrible rumors about the bad things he's done to people and how he was addicted to cocaine. And that truly disgusted her. She couldn't bare to be around someone who resembled her father.

And this genuinely angered Rafe. Knowing himself, he couldn't handle rejection nor could he continue to watch his most hated enemy, JJ, stay so close to a girl he was falling for. Everyone knew he had a soft spot for her for some unknown reason.

So one day, he decided to shoot his shot for Izzy.

But not in the way most would expect.
