"Are you sure you want..this?"
"Are you questioning my authority?"
"Uhm... I'm kind of questioning your thought process if anything-"
"Will you get it or not?"
Glancing down at the list she squinted at the two small items. Sighing and folding the piece of paper she stared down at the mob boss in an aggravating manner. Waking up early for a simple grocery store run seemed like a big waste of time. Especially since he "saved" her for his best job yet.
"It's not a hard task... if you cant do it then-"
She cut him off with a quick eye roll, " I never said it was hard, it just seems pointless. I've been here for a total of one week and this is the task you've been saying that was so important."
He sighed and stroked his beard, which he kept maintained. His ongoing show of wealth did not stop at the decor K noticed, his abundance of servants and maintenance crew proved a glamorous lifestyle. She however had yet to get in on this accumulation of wealth, pizza every other night isn't exactly what she would call luxurious.
"Good. I'll send Enzo with you. Youll leave in 15 minutes, you can go gather yourself in the meantime."
The ex waitress watched as he texted who she assumed was Enzo with instructions. His fingers flying across the screen, he scrunched his brows slightly. She watched him briefly intrigued by his manner; with him in general. She was still foreign to this, and his lifestyle. It was one that was as alien as living in another country.
A tiny bit of dark hair fell in front of his eyes, swift hands cast it aside, and put down his cell phone. He eyed the young woman that stood in front of his desk wondering why she was still here.
"you may go"
His tone, so familiar with the authority and deep control had not wavered. He could see her stand up straighter and her eyes cast downward. Her melanin-rich complexion hid her embarrassment easily but he could tell it was there. He watched as she slowly backed away soon out of his site and into the other room.

The temperature in the room was well reaching almost 90 degrees. The guests of the house slowly trickled out like a faucet, until everyone was sick of bodies bringing in heat. The house was well ventilated and air control was perfectly fine. However, most of the time windows were opened for cigarette smoke and to enjoy the day.
Sitting next to an open window in the hallway of the entrance she sat thinking. Although waiting on Enzo she was indeed eager to leave the prison. It had been one week since her life changed, and she had still not understood why things had for her. She had no connection with her friends, or family. She missed Amber and hadn't spoken to her best friend since the night of the accident. No doubt in her mind that she's enjoying her time with her fiance.
In all of this, she couldn't help but feel completely alone, and absolutely powerless.
"You're ready to go?"
Turning to face Enzo, she groaned internally. He had yet been forgiven for following her at the diner and setting her up. He tried to be friendly on occasion, waking her up on time for breakfast and giving her insight into the house rules.
