(a/n: now before i start this chapter i just wanted to say that's it's been a long journey with this book, we got 2k reads and 99 votes wow! and this is the 20th chapter, we still have a long way to go but this has been going for so long and i'm grateful for how many people who have stuck with me)
today is a big day for jim! today he is going to ask my dad to marry him, he's going to do it during dinner and we have invited a bunch of people over. i was getting ready because i settled everything up, i have been distracting my dad all day and it's pretty easy when your dad likes art.
"dad do you want to take some photos on my camera?" i asked because we have just finished painting a picture , "in a few minutes darling, i'll just go get some water because all this painting has me thirsty". my eyes widened, "no you can't! i- i mean let me get it for you!" i stuttered while smiling, "oh how kind of you dear" he said and i got up to walk to the kitchen.
i walked into the kitchen and saw jim on the island breakfast bar, "jim..." i said walking to him. "yes sweetheart?" he asked while looking my way, "dad is distracted but he tried coming inside, are you ready?" i asked while putting the glass under the tap. "yes the ring is tucked into a pocket he doesn't even know exists in this jacket" he said while patting his chest.
i smiled at him "good, i'll go do some photography with dad and then maybe the guests will start to come" i said and walked back into the garden. i sat down next to dad, "here's your water sir" i said while handing him the glass. "why thank you waiter" he said jokingly, i was so nervous about tonight that i didn't even notice i was staring at him, "darling your staring, what's wrong?" he asked while setting down his now empty glass.
"n-nothing i'm just finding school work hard at the moment" i lied, "well darling, how about you take time off and spend it with me and jim?" he asked and i was gonna say no but after the marriage they're gonna want to go on holiday. "sure" i smiled and he gave me the same smile back, we took photos and gave them to joe to develop. jim came out "our guests are here" he said and walked back in.
we both walked in and i saw my uncles, "uncle roger!" i said while running up to him, he gave me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. i haven't seen uncle roger in a while because he was on holiday, "hello you little panther" he said calling me the same nickname from when i was born. i gave brian and john hugs and we sat down while waiting for the others to arrive,i was talking to brian about space until the door rang.
i walked up to the door and opened it, behind the door reveals a very happy david bowie and mick jagger. i smiled widely as i brought them into big hugs "hello lovey" david said and walked into the house with mick trailing behind him. i didn't expect to see these guys to come, the door rang again and this time it was george michael and elton john. i haven't seen george in a while so gave him the tightest hug ever, "okay darling you can loosen up now" he said while patting my head.
we all sat, laughed and ate dinner. freddie was telling embarrassing stories from when i was little and then joe soon came with desert, strawberries and cream, jim and dad's favourite. we were quiet until jim looked at me and i nodded knowing what he's about to do, he got up and held onto my dads hand "jim darling what are you doing?" my dad asked.
"freddie i've been wanting to ask this for a long time now.. but it has to be said so, i've known you since the day you got me a drink in the pub although i had a boyfriend at the time, the time you took me to live aid where i met your beautifully kind daughter and where i met the greatest band in rock history. i'm proud that i made you happy and i love you very much so, this is the right time to do this.... freddie.. will you marry me?" jim said while onto one knee.
"yes!" freddie shouted and got up hugging him, i had tears in my eyes because of how happy i am they're married. i walked up to them and they brought me into a hug, "i love you two so much" i said kissing their cheeks. jim looked at me "thank you so much for helping me and accepting me to marry your dad, i actually have a surprise for you" he said while pulling some paper out. "me and your father have been talking and we've agreed that i should adopt you and be apart of the family" he continued and i froze but in a good way, the tears fell down my cheeks and i nodded "i'd be thankful to have you as my dad" i said and hugged him.
the others were watching and smiling, "i knew he'd pop the question one day" elton said while standing up. it was time for people to start leaving so everyone decided to leave and give us space. i was sat on the sofa with jim and freddie when i asked "so where's the honeymoon gonna be?". "hmm what about paris darling?" freddie asked and looked at jim, he nodded in agreement.
"paris it is!" i exclaimed and got off the sofa, it was night now and i'm got tired. "dad i'm gonna go to bed now" i yawned and walked up to my room. i saw someone who i least expected, my mother. "m-mum? why are you here?" i asked being shocked, she had been crying "i..... i lost the baby" she said crying. i was in shock, my half sibling is dead?. i ran to the side of my bed where she was sitting, i gave her a hug "it's okay! it's not your fault" i said kissing her four head, "oh darling i don't deserve you, i've been so nasty to you in the past, it's just you remind me of your father so much" she said pulling away. "no mum it's okay! i was a nasty child" i said cheering her up.
she shook her head, "no i was the bad one, you were a sweet child" she said, by then freddie had came upstairs" darling whats all the noise?- Mary?" he said. she looked at him and smiled, "dad... can i speak to you outside please?" i asked and he nodded. we walked outside and i shut my bedroom door, "she lost the baby... my half sibling is gone dad" i said tearing up. "oh darling" he said while bringing me into a hug, i started crying as hard as i could, "d-did you at least know the gender?" i asked pulling away.
"yes... it was a boy" he said whipping my eyes dry. "i would've loved him, i'm sure of it" i said looking down, mary came out and engulfed both of us into a hug. "i miss this... but we have our own lives now so it's too late to go back.." she said sighing, "we're going on a honey moon if you'd like to join?" i asked her. "no i wouldn't want to bother you two or jim" she said, "no please, come" jim said from behind her. (a/n: do NOT take that the wrong way😭)
mary agreed and spoke "i must get back home, goodbye my sweet child" she said and walked downstairs, "bye mummy" i said like i used to as a kid. freddie came behind me and kissed my cheek while hugging me.
