"Bakit n-nakatayo ka lang... diyan?"

From staring so long on my foot, I shifted my gaze at Flynne who suddenly talked. He had a mouth sores that's why he's having a hard time to speak. I immediately straightened my posture and formed a smile. I didn't realize that waiting for Delvine to fix his bed will spaced me out. Actually, it became my routine after I had fought with my brother.

Later that night, things drastically changed between us. If there's a right term for being more than introvert, I swear he's possessing it right now. He's back in his old habit. Dinistansya niya ang sarili sa akin. We treat each other like a stranger when our parents were not around.

It leave a huge hole in my heart. The person who's genuinely cares for me, love me, concern to me, and makes me happy had now turned into someone I don't even know anymore. Katulad ni Elisse, tuluyan na siyang nagbago.

But it would never change the fact that they are still important people in my life. They will always be.

5 days passed after the finals, now it's finally sembreak. Ilan sa mga kaklase ko ay umuwi na sa kanilang mga probinsiya. While us, we've stayed in our house. Hindi kami makaka-alis dahil nagtitipid kami. There were a lot of things that needed to my debut. Hindi pa naman totally okay ang lahat. Though, it was a simple one, it still required to spend a lot of money.

"Come here, don't just stand there." Delvine summoned me by waving her hand.

Agad naman akong lumapit at umupo sa tabi ni Flynne habang naka-upo naman si Delvine sa paanan niya.

Hindi nawala ang ngiti ni Delvine sa akin. After a while, she excused herself. She thought that we both need to talk base on my expression. Ilang beses ko na bang pinuri ang babaeng 'to? Why she's so good in making people adore her? I wouldn't surprise by all when Flynne suddenly propose to her.

"How's your... f-finals? I'm sure you did well again. Am I... r-right?"

Half-laying in his bed with a medical equipment that surrounds him, one thought entered my mind. I watched, saw a lot of patients who has a same situation with him that seemingly fine and a trace of hope was displayed on their face, yet, this guy beside me gave me an uncomfortable feeling.

He's not wearing his beanie, his head was shining as if it was a gleam of metallic equipment. His built has now gone and turned into skeletal figure. He always looked tired. Madalas ko din siyang nadadatnang nagsusuka though he only ate a small amount of food. 

Effects of Chemo really ruined him.

I nodded before I shifted my gaze to his big bruise on arm. Nang mapansin niyang napatingin ako dito, he pulled up his blanket to cover it.

He gave me a shy smile when I glanced at him. I just don't feel like to ask him about it. Instead, I asked Delvine.

"How's Delvine? Is she doing okay? Baka naman puro ikaw inaatupag niya for the past 5 months? How about her study?" His brows raised. "She's worth it. Kapag gumaling ka na, pakasalan mo na agad." I laughed and lightly hit his lap.
