Chapter 10

***Lauren's P.O.V***

I woke up the next day to a text from Hayes.

Hayes- we should hang today:)

I smiled instantly at his text.

Lauren- perhaps grier.

Hayes- I'll be there in 10:) 😘

Lauren- 10 minutes?! Are you crazy, do you know how long it takes for a girl to get ready?!

Hayes- hurry babe. 😘

I got goosebumps at the word babe. Does this mean were like a thing? I may have feelings for him but I don't know him well enough. Plus he said he had a dark past which I'm pretty curious about. I mean I met him 2 days ago, maybe were going too fast.

I jumped out of bed ignoring my thoughts and but on a cute maroon skater skirt with a dark sweatshirt. I really don't want him to know about my cuts so I try to hide them as much as possible. I mean I put band aids on them but still, their pretty noticeable.

I then but on light makeup. Makeup for me is bb cream and mascara, anything else is just glop. I take one last look in the mirror before the bell rings. I can hear my mom talking to Hayes then footsteps up the stairs.

I start to panic and brush my hair quickly and striking a 'natural' pose which is anything but natural... My door was open so he just walked in.

"Hey! Wow, you look beautiful." Hayes spoke nervously as if unsure what to say. I blushed like crazy but didn't hide my face.

"Thank you, um you look pretty too..." God I am so bad at talking to this kid.

"Haha, thank you.." Hayes replied awkwardly.

"I'm sorry, I really don't know what to say when I'm with you, I just get nervous and I get really awkw-."

"Hey, it's okay. It's cute" Hayes said interrupting me. He out his hands on my hips and brought me closer to his body. He was always so warm and cuddly and I never wanted to leave his arms. He then grabbed my hand and kissed it.

"We should get going." I said in an outburst.

Hayes just smiled and took my hand. I told my mom that I was going out with Hayes and would be back later.

"So where are we going?" I asked curiously.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out." Hayes replied teasing me.

"You suck." I said blankly.

"Yeah but you love me." Hayes replied giggling and looking in my eyes. I just smiled and shook my head.

We walked for a little while before we found ourselves outside...
