The pancakes that Miles made for me we absolutely scrumptious. I cannot even make pancakes this good.
"Miles," I call from the kitchen table. Miles's phone went off almost twenty minutes and he stepped out of the kitchen. "I need your help." I could hear heavy footsteps heading towards the kitchen. And a second later, Miles's head peeks around the corner.
"Ms.Royal?" Miles walks over to the table.
"Is there a computer here? I need to sort through my old notes and Ezra had this stupid password on my phone so now I can't download anything." I rant.
"You'll have to wait for Mr.Royal to get home." Miles sigh leaning on the back of the chair across the table from me.
"I thought there were more guys here." I say.
"There are three guys outside, me here with you, and one in the basement." Miles points out the window behind me. Turning around, there's a man under the tree a couple of feet away from the pool.
"Halo sector five, smile the sun is shining." My eyes stay focus on the man under the tree as Miles speaks gibberish to my understanding. The man under the tree smiles in my direction before throwing me a small bow. A quiet laugh leaves my throat as I throw a smile in his direction before turning back around to the table.
"When is Ezra gonna be back?" I whine. I just wanna update my notes.
"Mr.Royal should be here soon." Miles takes a seat in the chair he was leaning on. "Do you have anything that you need help to review?" Miles asks, grabbing my open notebook from in front of me. His eyes quickly scan the page, before handing it back over to me.
"I don't think so, I just need to go over my old notes. I have to get an A on this final on Monday or that bitch is gonna beat me for valedictorian." I need to take a break before I begin to pull my hair out from stress. Closing my eyes for a minute, I take a deep breath to calm myself down. "I need to take a break." I groan getting up from the table and walking into the living room. Five days, that's all I have until finals.
Plopping down on the couch, I grab the remote and begin to flick through the channels until I land on Mamma Mia. This movie makes me smile every time. I swear to that I've seen it over thirty times. I really wanna see it performed on stage. I remember the first time that I saw Mamma Mia. I was twelve, the whole idea of finding not just one but three fathers that would want you, accept you, was a dream to me as a girl growing up without a father. I've seen movies before about girls trying to find their father but Mamma Mia just stuck with me for some strange reason.
"Summer." Ezra's voice shakes me out of my train of thought. Sitting up I look over my shoulder to find Ezra walking over to the couch. "Did you eat?" Ezra asks, placing a kiss on my cheek. Sitting down next to me on the couch, Ezra wraps his arm around my waist, pulling me into his lap.
"Miles made some amazing pancakes. I was trying to study but it turns out that I need a freaking password." I groan. "Ezra I need a computer. Skylar didn't pack my laptop. I have five days and then I'm gonna be taking that exam. I cannot afford to fail. I just can't." I groan placing my head in my hands. Ezra rubs soothing circles on my back.
"Calm down. I'll get you a laptop. That old raggedy thing you call a laptop is in the garbage where it belongs. Lord, it was falling apart for goodness sakes." Ezra laughs, pushing me out of his lap so that I'm standing in front of him while he turns off the television.
"My laptop had all of my pictures and important documents on them." Ezra gets up from the couch, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the living room and towards the stairs behind him.
"My tech guy has your hard drive. I'll have him transfer everything onto your new laptop. You have five days. Do you know what we could do in five days? You need to calm down and stop stressing or I'm gonna make you calm down." Ezra pulls me in front of him just as I get up the last step. Ezra back into his embrace, slowly trailing his right hand up my waist and to grope my left breast.
"Ezra stop." I muster out. "I have worked too hard." I sigh, stepping two steps forward to escape Ezra's embrace. "Being valedictorian has been my dream since I was a freshman in high school. I fucked up then and now I'm not gonna waste any time now. I'm so close to finally winning." A sigh leaves Ezra's lips.
"You need to calm down or your gonna lose your mind. I'll give you two hours and then your on my time. Come on." Ezra walks over to his office door opening the door, waiting for me to enter as he stands at the threshold.
