The girl who glared at Phoenix and Janna was Roxy Reyes, head cheerleader and campus crush ng bayan.
"Phoenix, dahlin'!"
"Roxy." He nodded to her.
"Aren't you gonna invite me to join you?" She asked.
"No."
"Why not?" She asked with raised brows.
Phoenix didn't answer but continued eating.
Roxy went in front of their table and assessed Janna insultingly.
"Because you're slumming it?" She said.
"Be nice, Roxy." Phoenix warned.
"She doesn't look like your type, Phoenix."
Janna gripped her fork tighter. She leaned towards Phoenix a little and whispered: "Kasama ba sa trabaho ko to take this kind of shit? Wala sa kontrata 'to."
"You know, Hellcat, it actually is in your contract. I'm sorry about her, but, it's part of the job." He murmured back.
"Sino ba siya? Girlfriend mo din? Player ka ba?"
"Umaasang maging girlfriend ko. There's a difference."
"So pa-fall ka?"
A manicured hand came down heavily on Janna's shoulder: "Hey! I'm asking you a question, girl! Don't ignore me."
Janna's mouth tightened into a frown. Anger flashed in her eyes as she looked at Phoenix.
"Sandali lang ha?" She told him.
She flicked her hand upwards to remove Roxy's grip on her shoulder.
"Hindi mo ba nakikitang kumakain kami? Bakit ka nang-iistorbo?"
"What...I was just..." Roxy was unprepared at Janna's direct question.
"May pinaguusapan kami, natural lang kasi magkasama kami. Eh ikaw, kasama ka ba namin? Bakit ka sumisingit sa usapan ng may usapan?" Janna pressed on.
"Hello...!" Roxy organized her thoughts to reply.
"Yan! Tama yan! Mag-hello ka lang sa amin at umalis ka na. Hindi yang parang wala kang manners." Janna was relentless.
Roxy stared at her.
"San na nga ba tayo?" Janna turned to Phoenix like nothing happened.
"Ha? Ah! Cakes. Cake shop. Tama ba?" Phoenix tried to hide his amusement.
Janna glanced back at Roxy, who was floundering in embarrassment.
"O, ba't andiyan ka pa? Nakita no nang nag-usap na kami. May vacant table na dun o! Kumain ka na. Baka gutom lang yan. Bye!" Janna said.
"Phoenix!" Roxy protested angrily.
"Go, Roxy. Busy kami ng girlfriend ko."
"Girlfriend mo...'to!" Roxy stammered in shock.
"Don't push it, Roxy. She's not safe when she gets mad."
Roxy stormed off angrily.
"You're scary, Hellcat!"
