Marinette and Adrien stepped onto the dance floor ,the crowd silent. Marinette's palms were sweating like crazy, her heart racing. Adrien looked like he was on a quiet stroll.
"May I have this dance M'lady?" Adrien asked, offering his hand.
"They're all looking at you." Marinette whispered.
"Trust me they're all looking at you." Adrien said as he started to move his feet to the rhythm. Marinette caught on the type of waltz they were doing and soon enough they were moving together. It seemed straight out of a fairytale movie scene. Marinette moved with elegance and class, while Adrien just danced, eyes dazzling. He couldn't take his eyes off her. He felt like he already knew her, on the inside at least. Adrien took his chances and lifted Marinette above his shoulders. She was caught by surprise but played it off and dropped into his arms for a dip. The music ended, their noses were centimeters apart, and the crowd had burst into applause. Marinette's blush returned from earlier. She felt overwhelmed, not from the people, but from him. She cared for him so much, he fit into her life. Marinette couldn't ignore that forever, but she was sure he didn't feel the same. For he was the one who ended it...to be with Chloe. Marinette rushed into the crowd, through the halls, and into the cold parking lot. She couldn't stay there and imagine the old days where she would step on his feet. Marinette couldn't be near him without craving him. She walked for thirty minutes and it started to rain. She was shivering, her heels in her hands, and tears falling down her cheeks. At this point she couldn't tell what direction the school was, or what direction even near the school was. Marinette took shelter in a gas station. She had some left over cash in her purse. She bought some hot cocoa and stuck around the store for a while. A bit over a hour a Range Rover pulls up to fill up their tank. You could never guess who steps out. It's Adrien. He looked as if he was about to throw up or better yet faint. Marinette couldn't stop the smile from spreading across her face. She ran through the rain and jumped onto him.
"I'm so sorry, I don't know what I was thinking. I just want to go home please." Marinette said, sobbing in his arms.
"It's going to be okay. I'm right here." Adrien said. He got her situated in his car and started back to the school. "Your feet must be killing you. I'm sorry I got carried away at the ball. I couldn't help it. You remind me so much of someone that I love. Too bad I made a stupid decision to let her go. She was the only good thing in my life."
"Adrien?" Marinette called.
"Mhm, what do you need?" Adrien said turning towards her.
"Kiss me." Marinette ordered. Adrien's face went red. His ears were the strongest. He didn't hold back though. Soon enough Adrien was halfway across the console. He leaned in, then she did, and boom. They're lips collided and nothing else mattered at this moment. It didn't matter that Marinette was freezing, or that she ran away from the ball. What mattered was that they were together, and nobody was there to stop them. They pulled apart gasping for air.
"You sure you wanted that? There are no take backs." Adrien joked, plastering a smirk on his face.
"Oh just take me home stupid." Marinette joked. They arrived back at Marinette's dorm and she couldn't be happier. She remembered all those days she would sit in her room with Adrien munching on croissants from the bakery. It made her heart ache. "Adrien, stay with me."
"I'm here for you princess. I always will be." Adrien said patting Marinette's head. They moved to her bedroom and watched some movies on her computer. She started drifting off and all of a sudden she was out. Adrien watched the end of the movie and accidentally fell asleep too. Luckily they still had another two days until school started.
The next morning Alya burst down the door. "I'm awake I swear!" Marinette screamed out of no where. "Oh my god Alya its just you. Don't scare me like that." She rolled back over and there Adrien was. "Ahhhh" Marinette screamed as she fell off the bed.
"Who's there? I know fencing and karate!" Adrien shouted out of no where.
"Dude we've been looking for you two all night. Turns out you guys just ended up sleeping together." Nino explained. Adrien and Marinette's faces turned a bright red.
"I swear we didn't do anything we just watched movies and fell asleep. I need coffee before this turns into a whole scenario." Marinette groaned as she got up off the floor. She exited the room while Adrien still tried to justify what happened. It didn't matter to Marinette though, she knew nothing happened. She drank her coffee while Adrien and Nino left.
"Girl tell me everything that happened last night! I was worried sick." Alya said. Marinette slowly told the story of the night before, with Alya's occasional gasps. It made her feel good she was so worried about her. She really should've texted her or something telling her she was fine. Adrien seemed like her knight in shining armor. Turns out he was just there at the right time.
