"I'm done with your shit," South Carolina angrily said, pointing at America. Not even a hundred years old, and his states were already rebelling.
"YOU CAN'T DO THAT! That doesn't make any sense!" America retorted, trying to hide his panic. South Carolina chuckled and shoved a document to his chest.
"Actually, I can."
America took the document and read it through, a cold sweat running down his face at reading the words that had been inscribed upon it.
It stated:
"We, the People of the State of South Carolina, in Convention assembled do declare and ordain, and it is hereby declared and ordained, That the Ordinance adopted by us in Convention, on the twenty-third day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and eighty eight, whereby the Constitution of the United States of America was ratified, and also all Acts and parts of Acts of the General Assembly of this State, ratifying amendment of the said Constitution, are here by repealed; and that the union now subsisting between South Carolina and other States, under the name of "The United States of America," is hereby dissolved."
America had to force his tears of fear and panic back before looking up once again. South Carolina had already turned and started leaving, feeling on top of the world, as a new nation.January 3, 1861
"C'mon, I know you wanna secede, too. All you have to do is make the document."
Mississippi looked around uncomfortably. He wanted to secede, he felt so tempted to. But his decision was getting harder by the day.
"Do you really think this would be a good idea..?" He asked.
"I know I feel like a new person, and you will too. Of course it's a good idea! America's been throwing everything he can at us, and we gotta show him that we won't take it no longer," South Carolina reassured him, putting a hand on his shoulder.
Mississippi sighed. He thought this was anything but a good idea. Yet slowly, he was starting to think that there wasn't any other choice.January 9, 1861
America was exhausted. He had just talked to South Carolina for the fourth time that day, in hopes that he would return to the Union. He walked into his bedroom and sat down at his desk to think. Then, he noticed a paper that he hadn't set on his desk. He picked it up.
"What the hell..?" He mumbled to himself. He read the title aloud.
"A Declaration of the Immediate Causes which Induce and Justify the Secession of the State of Mississippi from the Federal Union.. Oh, no... Mississippi, why..?" America muttered to himself."Doesn't it feel good?" South Carolina smiled, putting an arm around Mississippi's shoulder. "Can't you see a world of your choosing ahead?"
"It does feel better. Even though I was real hesitant, it was the right choice.. Hey, do you think I made the document too long-?" Mississippi said.
"Nah, even though it was way longer than mine, the more reasons to justify your secession, the better. Don't sweat it," South Carolina hugged him. "I'm proud of ya."
"So, who next?" Mississippi asked, tilting his head slightly out of curiosity.
"I've already gotten two others to make their decisions, their declarations are already made. However, I'm gonna need your help swaying someone else's decision. You'll see who soon enough."January 11, 1861
America was getting more distressed by the day. Now, two of his states had seceded, and he was scared to make any shots against them for them to come back in fear of sparking war.
"Oh, what am I gonna do, what am I gonna do..?" He mumbled, sitting down at his desk and shuffling through papers. Once again, he found documents that weren't there before. This time, there were two, one from the previous day, and one from the current day.
The one from the previous day was titled, "Ordinance of Secession of the State of Florida".
The one from the current day was, "An Ordinance to dissolve the union between the State of Alabama and the other States united under the compact styled 'The Constitution of the United States of America'".
America read through these two documents, feeling sick to his stomach. He felt as if he was going to throw up at any given moment. He ran into the bathroom and hunched over the sink, and threw up a thick black substance. It was like oil, but it wasn't.
Illinois peeked into the bathroom. "Are you alright..?" He asked worriedly, a look of fear in his eyes. America looked over towards the door at Illinois and wiped his mouth with a towel. He went over to the state and hugged him.
"Whatever happens, we'll all be okay, understand..?"
"Okay..."(A/N:: Hope you enjoyed the first chapter! ^^
