AURORA PETROVA was kind, perhaps the kindest soul with the biggest heart. She was always looking out for others, helping them in the best way she could. Whether it was, helping with chores, helping anyone with less fortune or even watching over the kids in the village.
And maybe that was what caught Kol Mikaelson's attention. He saw her everyday, helping and caring for others before herself. That was something he admired her for.
Kol was sitting down in the meadow, lost in his thoughts. As he got into another argument with his siblings and almost struck by his father, he decided to clear his head.
A hand on his shoulder startled him, bringing him out of his thoughts. Turning to see who it was, he saw the girl that haunted his thoughts from day to night, the lovely Aurora Petrova.
"I thought I might find you here," Aurora says before gesturing if she could sit. "May I?"
Kol gives her a simple nod, as she now sits by him.
"Kol? What's going on?"
"Nothing Aurora."
"Kol, are you okay? Please, tell me."
Feeling frustrated, Kol stands up and yelled, "Nothing. Can't you just mind your business!?"
Seeing Aurora flinch back, Kol's face is filled with guilt and regret.
Despite Aurora feeling scared, she calmed herself down first before hugging Kol tightly. She felt him relaxed as he hugged her even tighter now.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have raised my voice darling."
"Shh. It's okay. Let's sit down, okay?"
"Why doesn't my family love me Aurora? What did I do? I know I can be an ass at times but it's only to get their attention."
"Oh Kol, you did absolutely nothing wrong. Your family loves you, they just have a hard time showing it."
"I'm the black sheep in the family, darling. Perhaps I always will be. I know I might not be the best like Elijah or Niklaus but, I -"
Kol stops himself, as he feels his eyes start to water. At the sight of seeing him so distraught, Aurora's heart breaks.
Hugging him once more, Aurora takes a breath before saying, "I could relate to you, you know."
Kol turns to look at her before giving her a nod as a signal to continue.
"I was, well possibly still am, the black sheep of my family. Back at home, all the attention was on Tatia. Maybe it was because of her grace and beauty; I don't know. But it was always her before me. I was second best at everything. I was easily forgotten and that made me feel horrible."
"I'm sorry about that, darling -"
Cutting him off, "Don't apologize, Kol. If anything, it made me into the person I am today, which is why I always do my best to help anyone and everyone." Aurora said, as she looked at the flowers in front of her, refusing to meet his eyes.
Kol places his hand on her cheek gently, making her face him.
"You are the most kindest person, Aurora. Please don't ever forget that. Anyone who has you in their life, is forever lucky."
"I wouldn't say I'm the kindest -"
Cutting her off, just like she did to him, He looks into her eyes and says, "Don't. You have the kindest soul Aurora. I see you all the time helping others including those who may not have the same color as us. I admire that about you. I admire the way you always talk to Rebekah and Niklaus, and how you even play with Henrick."
Aurora smiles widely, before saying, "You, Kol Mikaelson will be the death of me. And you shall know that I am always proud of you."
Wrapping his arm around her shoulder, he leans to her, looking in her blue eyes once more, "You are my light in my darkest day, Rora."
Letting out a laugh that sounds like music to Kol's ears, she questions. "Rora?"
"Yes, darling. A new nickname for you." Kol says with a smirk before standing up, holding his hand out towards her to grab. "Join us for dinner? I'm sure your sister will be there."
Giving the handsome brunette a nod, she stands up with his help as he places his arm around her shoulder once more.
He then whispers in her ear, "I think you are the most beautiful girl I have ever laid my eyes on. You are far more gorgeous than any other girl here, and yes even more so than Tatia."
As she looks into his eyes, she smiles so wide. A smile that can light a whole room up.
Deciding to be daring, she stands on her toes and kisses Kol on his cheek which widens his eyes.
Letting out a laugh once more as he now smiles with a blush on his cheeks, she starts to run.
"Why are you running, Rora?"
"Why not? Last one there is a loser."
"Darling, your going to lose."
"Oh Kol, then why am I ahead of you?" Aurora called out.
Catching up to her, he grabs her waist and spins her around, making her squeal with happiness.
Both teenagers feeling nothing but happiness. As this was only the start of their epic love story.
