At ten Levi was sitting in his truck in front of Eren's garage. He told his goons he had something personnel to do. Gave them instructions to keep them busy for the day. Armin and Mikasa came out of the house chatting together. Levi looked down at his raw knuckles. He still hadn't thought of what to tell them if they asked.
Then there he was. Eren came walking out pulling a tee shirt over his head. He didn’t look like he got much more sleep than Levi had, which was none. Levi opened the door. Eren's head snapped up to look at the truck. Eren stopped just as Levi's phone rang. He glanced down at the number. Petra. She had been calling him half the morning.
“Hello?” he asked.
“You busy today?” her cutesy voice was annoying.
“Yeah, band practice.” He ground out.
“Oh, but last night…” her voice trailed away.
“I’m late do you want something?” he demanded. When she said no he simply hung up. He turned the phone to vibrate then slipped it into his back pocket. Eren was in the garage now.
Connie was pulling out his gear. The garage was too small to have everything out with enough space to play so they spilled into the driveway. Jean pulled up. He went to help Connie. Sasha was no where to be seen. Eren finished fixing something.
Levi took a mic from Eren. “What happened?” he asked looking at Levi's hands.
“Got mad at the mirror.” Levi muttered without really looking at the other kid. Band practice sucked. Eren wouldn’t talk to Levi, wouldn’t even look at him if Levi was looking in his direction. Levi was doing the same. They called it after two hours.
“Hey, Eren, you still ride?” Jean called out. Eren looked up. He knew what he meant.
“I need to get a part for my bike. Mom hasn’t been able to take me down to get it.” He answered.
“I can take you. You got the money right?” horse face asked. Eren nodded.
“Great. We can go up to the hill tonight.” Eren laughed at that.
“So that's why your willingness to go into dodge.” Levi's phone was buzzing again. He got in the truck.
“Hey boss, this dick doesn’t want to pay. We thought maybe you wanted another playmate.” Levi looked up to Eren. He was laughing with Jean over something. A blind rage boiled in him.
“On my way.” He said. Dumb texted him the address and Levi spun out of the drive. He missed the look an Eren's face as he turned to watch the other leave. Once everything was picked up, Eren told his mom he was going for a ride with Jean. They got into his Camaro.
It didn’t take long to get to the shop. It was in a very sketchy part of town. Eren had been coming here for a few years and knew a few of the guys. He typically came on Sundays. This was the first time he showed up on a Saturday.
They parked in front and walked in. A few customers were looking around. Two big guys with hoodies on flicked cold eyes at them. Eren looked right back but said nothing as he walked to the register. The owner Pixis was leaning on the counter. He was old but knew dirt bikes.
“Eren freaking Yeager!” he cried seeing the boy. They shook hands. “It's been awhile. Look at how big you are.” Eren blushed.
“Hey, Pix.” He greeted the man. Eren told him what he needed. The old man went in the back to find it.
“Nice car boys.” The older teens in hoodies headed over to them. The other customers suddenly left the store.
“It was my dads.” Jean said.
