"You need to snap out of it." Alina said as Lina kept running. Katerine was still in Lina's hands, staring into the cyclops' hands. "If we don't help, they could die."
"I can't. Why did this happen?" Katerine said to herself.
"Does it matter now? We can figure out the reason later. For now, we need to help your friends." Alina said in frustration. However, Katerine just stared ahead in shock. "You listening?" She added.
Alina watched as Katerine just stared off into space. She could see the sadness in her eyes. "If you aren't going to save them, then I will." Alina snapped as she took Katerine by the shoulders and moved her aside.
Lina stopped running and looked as Katerine's body stood up in her hands. The elf looked up at Lina with bright blue eyes. "Katerine?" She asked.
"It's weird moving in this body. It'll do for what I need though." The elf said.
"Who are you?" Lina asked.
"Alina. And I need to save Katerine's friends." The elf said while jumping down from the cyclops's hand.
"Are you her friend?" Lina asked.
"It's something like that." Alina said as she began walking back towards Caliska and Galima.
"Even then. Please don't go!" Lina begged. Alina looked back at the cyclops with curiosity. "Please. I don't want to lose my friends."
"Why did you get attached to us?" Alina asked.
"You're the first ones that didn't see me as a monster. You saw me as a person. I don't want to lose you when everything just started going well." Lina said.
"Don't worry. Nothing bad will happen to us. Only Zox." Alina said as she began running back. When she left, tears began running down Lina's cheeks.
Alina saw Zox walking towards Galima while Caliska was laying on the ground. "Misfortune touch." Alina said while running.
Zox looked past the halfling, noticing the elf. "I see she came back." He said as more crystals formed around him. Alina immediately turned to the right and ran into the forest. "You're not getting away!" The lizardman said as he snapped his fingers. When he did, he flew a few inches above the ground before chasing after the elf at blinding speeds.
As Alina lead Zox into the forest, she began touching the base of all the trees she passed by. When Zox got close, the trees began to fall towards him. "What?" He said while flying away from the falling trees.
Alina took the time to turn around and run towards Zox. The lizardman spotted her just as her hands touched his scaly skin. Afterwards, Alina smirked and ran off. Zox was about to fly towards her when he felt a pain in his chest. "What? What's.....going on......" He said before falling to his knees. His breath shortened while his hands clawed at his chest.
Alina stared at Zox as he banged his fist over his heart. However, he looked up at her with fear in his eyes. Before falling over to the ground lifelessly.
Galima carried Caliska towards the two of them, seeing the fallen trees and the fallen lizardman. "What happened?" The halfling asked while panting heavily.
"He was unlucky." Alina said as she walked towards Zox's body. She put her fingers on his neck, noticing there was no pulse. "I don't have control over what happens."
"You're not Katerine, are you?" Galima asked.
"I'm not. I'm Alina, a friend you can say." The goddess explained.
"How can we believe you?" Caliska tiredly said.
"Don't talk. You need to rest." Galima said while slowly lowering Caliska to the ground, laying her gently.
"I've been with you since Katerine got the sword I was trapped in. I know how you all met and I've been through all that ticklish torture myself." Alina said desperately.
"Still. Being able to kill him. It must kill her on the inside." Galima responded.
"I haven't checked. I took over her body to save you all. Even then, I haven't checked to see how she's doing." Alina admitted.
"Please. Let us talk to her." Caliska said while slowly sitting up.
Alina looked at them. Tears began to well up as she felt pain in her own chest. "Ok." She said. Katerine's eyes slowly changed back to the bright green eyes she had before. Tears streamed down her face as she cried while looking at Zox's lifeless body. She hugged the lizardman, sobbing into his back.
Galima walked up to her and hugged her from behind. "Sorry this happened." She said.
"Why? Why him? Why did he do this?" Katerine asked while crying.
Caliska slowly sat up and hobbled over to the elf. "We're here for you." She weakly said.
Katerine looked up to them with a small smile. "Thanks!" She said.
