Now with that aside. I'd like to talk on the racism going on in the United States. Incase y'all didn't know I'm a black girl and I live in Nigeria, and although I'm not there in America to experience the pain my fellow black people feel and go through I would like to use this as a means to communicate my pain and my sorrow to all my readers. No one was born a racist. People teach others to hate but people can still teach others how to love and they say love comes naturally to a human unlike hate. I have so many white friends, so so many that I've met both online and in person, and to explain to you the kind of love I have for each one of those people would be an understatement because I love them all the exact way I love my own family members and even myself. So it hurts when I see other whites hating on us and killing our people unjustly simply because we look different or because of e melanin in our skin. Why is it that we love you guys, but y'all don't love us?, why do we want to live with you guys and be around y'all and all you people do is push us and treat us like we are less of a human. I am human and I am black and it could have easily been me who was killed like George Floyd. He was unarmed and complied with everything the officers said but yet he got killed. The officer had pushed his knee up against the neck of Floyd and kept it there for minutes even when George begged and clearly said 'I'm going to die' WHY DIDN'T THEY STOP!? 😭 Why did they take an innocent mans live along with lives of other innocent black people who try to thrive in the white world?. Why aren't we given a chance to live and be free. Why do we have to fear anytime we see a white police officer? Why do majority of the people keep quiet when they see things like this and not speak up for us?. Why are we considered as thugs by trump?, why do some whites defend their selves by opposing the #blacklivesmatter movement with the #alllivesmatter?. All lives do matter yes they do. But in this situation it is clear that in Other parts of the world and most especially America, black lives do not matter. And until black lives start to matter, all lives don't matter. I keep seeing #alllivesmatter here and there like it's wrong to trend the black lives matter hashtag. All lives matter but the issue on ground is that many blacks are being killed unjustly and it's on the internet we can all see it. We are targeted more than the whites, we are arrested and manhandled in ways that if it were to be a white person he or she wouldn't go through thesame experience. All I ask is for Change. Is for y'all to defend us and love us and accept us the way we accept you. It's not enough to be non racist. But y'all need to be anti racist and fight for the lives of black people. To be treated like humans and for us to feel comfortable in our own skin.
I have so many things I wanna say but I can't say it all cause my head is all jumbled up and my eyes are clouded with tears so I'm going to stop here. Please help us make a change. If you're a white racist then please I beg of you I love you and I want you to love me too. And if you aren't I still wanna beg of you to never stop loving us and keep fighting for our people.
We all matter but we won't until #blacklivesmatter too.
