"Annabeth! Please?" I whined. The rest of our group pleaded as well until she finally gave in.
"Fine. I'll go to your sleepover."
Annabeth had been going to school here for over six months now, and never once agreed to attend an overnight event.
"Only because my boyfriend's in town." She clarified.
"What does he have to do with anything?"
"You'll see. Karli's house at 8?"
"Yup!" We agreed.
Our group consisted of Annabeth, Max, Lille, Reese, and myself. By some miracle, Max and Reese (the guys of the group) were allowed to spend the night, and for the first time ever the whole group would be in attendance.
"I'm so excited for tonight!" Reese beamed.
Oh, Reese. He had shaggy blond hair and an adorable smile that could light up any room. In case you couldn't tell, I had a bit of a thing for him. But, of course, like every other boy in the school he was pining over Annabeth despite her boyfriend. Almost everyone was sure he was fake, just an excuse to turn guys down, and honestly... I thought the same.
"I can't believe Annabeth agreed to stay!" He grinned. My smile faltered. Of course she was all he was thinking about, wasn't she always? I loved Annabeth like a sister, but it still hurt to see the guy I like ignore me just to get rejected by her.
Despite the little love triangle neither Reese nor Annie knew they were a part of... I was still looking forward to tonight. Besides, I wouldn't let a little crush stop me from having fun!

"Hey!" I welcomed Annabeth as she was the last to walk through the doors.
"Hey," she nervously greeted, her weird phone clutched in her hands. "So, if anything goes wrong tonight, grab my phone and hit the emergency button."
"Go wrong? What do you mean? Like-"
"Well hopefully," she cut me off, "there won't be anything to worry about. Just promise me, please?"
I was still confused but nodded my head.
"I promise."
And with that we joined the others downstairs.

After a few rounds of truth or dare, an unholy amount of popcorn consumption, and making it through Pitch Perfect, Annabeth was the first to pass out.
"She's so beautiful when she's asleep." Reese watched with a lovesick smile.
"That's not creepy at all." Max replied.
We continued talking, mainly teasing Reese about his crush, when a whimper was heard in the corner.
"W-what was that?"
"I don't know. I think it was A-" before I could even finish saying her name, the girl in question began screaming.
She was still asleep, but she was grasping onto her blanket for the life of her and her breathing was hitched.
"Oh my gosh!" Lillie cried, "what should we do?!"
"I don't know... try waking her up?"
Max volunteered, but unfortunately it didn't do much.
"It didn't work. She's crying and screaming, but she won't wake up."
I thought back to what she had told me earlier in the evening as I made a beeline for her bag, practically diving in as I grabbed her phone.
The others gave me confused glances, except Max who was still trying to rouse her, as I gave them a knowing nod and slammed the emergency contact.
