The entire school was in a frenzy, because today was the day...

It had been over 6 months since the reveal of the gods and Greek world, much of it spent learning about wars, their culture, and how to defend ourselves. Of course, this included many lessons about the greatest demigods of all time. Okay, so no one actually knew who these demigods were, but we could still idolize the "son of Jupiter" the "daughter of Pluto" and the others.

So what makes today different, you might ask? Well the seven will finally be revealed... and the son of Poseidon and daughter of Athena are going to be made gods.

It was no shock to everyone after hearing the stories. How he was already once offered, but declined, immortality, how they fell into Tartarus, how they were the heads of many sieges led to save the world as we know it. But the best part, they wouldn't just be made gods, but they would be part of the Pantheon, 2 thrones added in Olympus, which hadn't happened for thousands of years.

Everyone was grinning all day, excited to watch the live broadcast this afternoon, but until then... it was just a normal day.

"Hey Perce!" I greeted my best friend.

"Hey Avery! What's up?" Okay, so I probably should've clarified this earlier, but I'm a guy. I know... Avery is a kind of girly name, but I am, no doubt, of the the male gender.

Our group consisted of me, Percy, Keely, and Annabeth, who coincidentally had the same last name as Percy, and were all smiling as well as they entered the building.

"Are you ready for the reveal?" Keely squealed. I had to admit, I had a bit of a thing for her. She was always so excited and bubbly, which was quite a contrast from cool and collected Annabeth. She adored all things Greek and had taken up journalism, she had a blog and everything. It was like these demigods were superheroes, and she was the MJ Watson, Lois Lane, or Iris West always on the scene of monster attacks and interviews, trying to piece together just who these heroes might be. For her, today would be a dream come true.

Perce and Annabeth each gave each other nervous smiles before nodding.

"What do you think their titles or domains or whatever they're called will be, you know, when the doA and soP become gods?" I wondered.

"Hmm..." Annabeth began, "I bet the son of Poseidon will be god of something like loyalty, that is his fatal flaw. Or maybe it will be a skill? Something to do with water? Blue foods?" We all laughed at the reference, everyone knowing about the hero's love of all things blue.

"I bet the daughter of Athena will have something to do with architecture," Percy guessed, "but maybe something less direct? I don't know. Judo flipping? That's always a solid option."

The rest of the day was full of gossip and questions, the only topic on anyone's mind being the reveal and the demigods. But out of all the guesses and assumptions of how the night would go, no one ever would've guessed just how it would end.

"Avery, Avery!" A voice chased after me as I walked out the school doors.

"Hey Keel, what's up?"

She grinned wider than I had ever seen her before. "'What's up' is that I got a pass to tonight's reveal, and I get a plus one!" She squealed. Considering that the program would be held in Olympus itself, being the first and only time they would allow mortals to enter for a public event, only world leaders and few others had the opportunity to go in person. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

"But... how?" I finally managed as she continued grinning and jumping.

"That contest I entered a couple of months ago? You know, for my blog? Well apparently, I won. And I guess this 'Malcolm' guy who ran it as a scholarship program is actually a son of Athena. And not just a random son of Athena, I might add, he's really close with the daughter of Athena. So I guess he called in a favor or two and got me passes as a prize! How awesome is that?!"

"That's amazing!" I replied, still shocked. "So, who are you taking?"

"Well, I was wondering if you might, maybe, want to go with me? Grab some dinner before?" She shyly offered, her eyes looking down.

"L-like... as a date?"

"Well, I mean, only if you want it to be..."

I froze for a second before replying, my eyes sparkling and my grin wider than before.

"I would love to be your date."

"Really? I mean... great! Awesome!" She stammered. Oh gods, she was so adorable. "So, I'll meet up with you at 5? Formal dress?"

I nodded. "I wouldn't miss it."
