"Hello Mr.Yoo" you smiled as you saw in working in his little garden. Mr.Yoo looks up to see you and behind you was Guard Hoon. Guilt was hitting him. You were finally caught by the King for stealing his things only to help them.
"G-Good morning (Y/N)" he replies. Guard Hoon notices that he had a guilty face. "I was wondering if you had a job open?" You asked.
"A job?" He asked.
"Yes...you see, I have to pay back the King everything I stole by the end of next month," you said making his mouth dropped. He felt more guilty than ever.
"Y-You have to pay all of that back?"
"Yes and if I don't...then I get killed"
"What about your father? What about J-"
"They will be heartbroken, but I took the risk. It was my choice and now I'll pay the consequences"
Guard Hoon was kinda surprised that you weren't scared about dying if you didn't pay the King back. You knew what you were doing and didn't care anyway. "The only job that is open is building houses," Mr.Yoo said.
"I know and I don't mind. The pay is kinda high so it's perfect" you answered.
"But-"
"I don't mind getting my hands dirty. After all, I am the daughter of the old head guard of King Park" you said.
"Alright...we start tomorrow early in the morning," Mr.Yoo said.
"Thank you so much! I promise I won't be late" you bowed and ran away. Guard Hoon walks behind you. He was so shocked that you were acting so happy even though you are being watched over.
"Good morning, (Y/N)" you turned around and saw Mrs.Lee. Your eyes widen and quickly walks towards her, helping her to walk. "Mrs.Lee how many times did we say that if you ever needed something, you have to ask one of us to help you," you said making the old lady smile.
"You're so kind, (Y/N). You care for everyone here. No wonder why the Lord's son is after you" she commented, making you roll your eyes.
"He should know what the word no means. I'm not marrying someone who I barely know" you said.
"But that other man with you, you two seem perfect for each other. I remember seeing the two of you running around the other day"
"He's just a friend" you answered.
"Well my dear, you're twenty. You will soon need to find yourself a man"
"I don't need anyone if I have you and the others" you smiled.

You were in the kitchen, preparing lunch for you and Guard Hoon. He was watching you cooking. He has to admit you are beautiful, but he still confused about you stealing. He decided to get some fresh air before eating his lunch and headed towards the front door to see a young man standing there with a bouquet of flowers.
"Who are you?" The man asked. Guard Hoon looks back to see you too busy on cooking. He closes the door, pushing the man away. The two of them were outside, making it easier for the two of them to talk.
"Guard Hoon" he answers.
"So you're one of the Royal Guards. So she finally got caught. I told her to stop but she didn't listen. Anyways, is she home?"
"No. Why?" Guard Hoon asked. The man showed him the flowers, hoping that he understands what he's here for. "I was kinda hoping to ask her out," he said. Guard Hoon for some reason didn't like the idea of this man hanging out with you. You already have to pay the king back, so you can't have any other distractions so he decided to lie. And this lie could end him as well as you.
"I'm quite sorry but I can not let King Taehyung's future wife be with any other man"
