Chapter 6

Third Person POV

As the day went by, Percy and Thalia were able to successfully get packed and ready to head towards camp, but before they could go to the camp, they had the hardest challenge of their life. Convincing Sally to let Poseidon find and pay for a new house for her and her family, and allowing Poseidon to give them money, because, if there was one thing the two children of the big three knew, it was that Sally was very, very independent, and liked making her own path.

"Hey, mom." Percy started, shifting uneasily as he tried to think of how to convince her. "Can I talk to you for a second?" He continued to ask, from the kitchen.

"Of course sweety!" Sally responded cheerfully, before stepping away from Andromeda and Estelle, who were playing in the living room

"So. whats up?" Sally asked, after reaching the kitchen

"Well... you see mom, Poseidon stopped by earlier today." Percy started.

"Ok?" Sally responded, obviously confused by why Percy told her this.

"And he informed me of a conversation that he had with Zeus." Percy continued, still trying to decide how best to word this.

"And?" Sally prompted

"Oh gods Perce, you're hopeless!" Thalia suddenly called out "Poseidon offered to move you, Paul, Estelle, and Andromeda to a new house of your choosing, and to put a protective shielding on it to protect you all from monsters" Thalia said quickly.

"Oh." Sally responded, obviously not expecting that response, "well I think we are safe where we are."

"Well you are safe for now." Percy said, "but what about when Andromeda gets older, and her scent gets stronger? We don't have smelly Gabe to cloud her scent."

"Well then you can come and stay with us to fend off the monsters" Sally said, obviously not wanting to have to owe Poseidon anything.

"Mom." Percy started, "I'm not always going to be around, I mean I am moving to New Rome in just a couple of months to start college." I said, shifting uneasily.

"Oh... I just thought, with everything that happened recently... with Annabeth.." Sally started, now starting to shift uncomfortably.

"You thought that with Annabeth's death, that I would abandon the idea of New Rome, and go to a school closer to here?" Percy asked

"Well... yes." Sally responded

Percy sighed, "mom." He stared gently, "New Rome is still the safest place for me to go to school, and even if I chose to abandon that idea, I won't always be around. I will eventually move out and hopefully start a family, assuming i'm not dead by then."

"I know.." Sally said, sighing. "But do we really need to move out?"

"Mom. it's just for yours and everyone else's safety." Percy said, gaining some confidence.

"What about Paul's job, you can't expect him to quit working.

"Of course not!" Percy exclaimed. "I never said you had to move far, just somewhere that dad can ensure the protection of the house."

"Please Mrs. Blofis, think of what is best for your daughters." Thalia said softly, hoping that Sally had the same loyalty and Percy.

Sally sighed in slight defeat, "I know, I just don't like depending on someone else, you understand, Percy."
