The Girl from the River

Taehyung carries the barely breathing and bloody girl on his back towards his cabin. He calls it the Tiger's Den and that's where he'd get his alone time. He made a deal with the clan that no one bothered him here and they all obliged.

He's not worried about anyone breaking in or disturbing him so all his worries are placed on this woman from the Pengu clan.

Taehyung places her on the bed and moves to his kitchen to get some medicinal herb. He grabs a few to treat her wounds and a few more for the possible cold she has. She was in the cold water for who knows how long, he'd be surprised if she lived a few more hours. Her state was just terrible.

Taehyung moves the side of the bed with the herbs and a bowl of water and a small cloth. He cleans her face. As the dirt and blood disappears from her face, he seems to realize that she is in fact a beauty. He can't say he's surprised because of that tattoo on her arm. If she's a member of the leading family of the Pengu Clan then she must be beautiful. The members of that family are born with good looks and the three siblings are proof of that belief.

Taehyung then glances at her rugged and bloody clothes and thinks about ridding of them, for her health of course.

Taehyung turns to his small drawer to looks for clothes so he can change her from these drenched one. He finds a big cloak and a towel and decides that it has to do. Once he cleaned and changed her clothes, he starts to treat her wounds. She still hasn't waken but this should help her recover faster.

Taehyung sighs as he realizes he doesn't know what to do if she does recover. Is he just going to let her go? He can't do that. She's important to the Pengu Clan so having a captive like her could change the tides between the long term war they've been in.

Taehyung turns back to the unconscious girl and sighs. She looks so innocent and elegant. How can he turn her in to the Clan? He shakes his head at the thought and says, "I should've just left her. Namjoon is going to kill me."

"Ryujin..."

Taehyung turns to the girl and sees her flutter her eyes open. She says in that soft and vulnerable voice, "Ryujin... I'm fine. I'll be fine." He sits by her waiting for her to fully regain her consciousness and once she does, Mina sits up looking around confused.

Her eyes then dart to Taehyung and asks, "Where am I? Who are you? What happened to my clothes?" Taehyung chuckles nervously and rubs his nape but as he does, her eyes dart to a tattoo on his wrist. Three claw marks. The sign of Tiga royalty.

Mina tries to stand but the cuts on her arms and bruises on her back causes her to groan in pain. Taehyung stands and says, "Y-you shouldn't move. You were barely alive when I found you." Mina extends her hand, "Don't touch me! D-did you touch me? Where are my clothes?" Taehyung is taken aback hearing her so scared.

He then fumes, "I saved your life! You should be grateful that I didn't leave you in that river to die. Any other person here would have left you alone after seeing that tattoo!" Mina then hides her wrist in fear and stutters, "W-where are we?" Taehyung smirks, "The deepest parts of Tiga Clan territory."

Mina's face turns white as she realizes that she could be killed any moment. She tries to stand again but groans in pain which causes Taehyung to yell, "I TOLD YOU TO STOP MOVING!"

Mina flinches and the confidence that she once had disappears. Taehyung says, "I'm not gonna kill you." Mina looks at him confused and he says, "But you can't leave this place. If anyone sees you in these lands, you'll be killed on the spot. The Pengu Clan isn't very liked here."

Mina looks at him weirdly, "But why won't you kill me?" Taehyung chuckles, "Do you think we're animals here? Where all our people would just murder yours without thought."

She nods and says, "That's exactly what I think you are." Taehyung snorts and says, "Are you stupid? Then why did I save you?" Mina says, "You want leverage. Seeing my tattoo you know that I'm important. You'll use me." Taehyung says, "If anything, you'll find a way to use me. It's just how people are from your clan."

Mina rolls her eyes, "Why don't you just kill me? I'd rather die than be forced to stay with you." Taehyung brings out a dagger from his side and says, "Should I? Because I don't want to deal with you any longer."

Mina suddenly freezes as he caught her bluff. Taehyung notices and smirks, "I'll get you food and try to find a way to get you back to your people. Just... never talk about this ever." She asks curiously, "Why?"

He asks, "Why what?" Mina says in utter confusion, "Why are you letting me go? Why are you doing any of this?" Taehyung smiles and says, "We're not like you Pengus. We actually respect people." Mina scoffs, "And I thought you were nice."

Taehyung smirks, "Whatever you say. Stay here, I'll bring in food quickly." Mina stays quiet and he leaves the room to find some small animal for food.

Taehyung's gone for a while and after a few hours he quietly opens the door. If she's sleeping, he doesn't want to wake her up. She needs her rest after all. He starts a fire outside and prepares the small deer.

With a small feeling of worry, Taehyung slowly opens the door to check on Mina. To his surprise, she's awake and sitting up. He stays quiet for a bit seeing what she's doing and Mina uses all her strength to stand up.

Immediately as she stands, the worst pain she'd ever felt runs through her leg and she shrieks. Mina almost falls to the ground but Taehyung was quick to run in and catch her. He smirks, "See I'm not so mean. I would've just let you fall if I was a jerk."

Instead of seeing that fire in her eyes, he's greeted with redness and tears. Taehyung's smirk disappears and she mutters, "I-it's hurts." He gently places her on the bed and feels her shins. Mina hisses in more pain as the lightest of touches feeling like pounding hammers.

Taehyung curses, "Your leg is broken." Mina looks at him with tears eyes and a bloody lip as she's been biting it in pain. She says, "H-how am I gonna go back now?"
