Prologue

A young girl frolics through trees. The jungle is dense but causes her no harm. She is unaware of her naked body. She doesn't feel pain. There is no danger of ferocious animals or diseases. The girl just runs and runs without getting tired, blond curls flowing, blue eyes full of intense curiosity.

In the Garden of Eden, there is pure perfection in every hanging branch, blade of grass, and grain of sand. There is no reason for her to be afraid.

A flash of light beside her. She stops to quietly admire the image forming amidst the vibrancy. It's a set of wings. They're bright white with just a halo tint of orange at the edges, a wisp of something new and exciting.

An angel, she thinks.

What a beautiful contrast those wings are to his deeply tanned skin and jet black hair. She admires but does not touch his chiseled chest and muscular form. Like her, he was made with perfection in mind. However, unknowingly, a single flaw becomes obvious in his eyes, which continue to stare in her direction. It grows by the second and slowly takes center-stage at the forefront of their hearts.

This angel doesn't interfere or ask questions. He simply looks at her with longing, black eyes staring almost violently into her's.

There is no worry etched in their faces. What consequences could be born from such pure emotion? At this moment, everything is...

Perfect.

He was perfect by nature and she was perfectly conceived. As these two perfect beings gazed at one another, something happened between them. She could feel it in her heart. There was a tightening in her chest, and it pulsed and radiated down to her toes. She had a sudden urge to wrap her limbs around his body and claim him as her own. But what exactly did that mean, to "claim" someone? What emotion could cause such a fierce reaction inside of her?

Love...God called it love. But this was not the same "love" He bestowed upon his creations. This was deeper than that.

"Who are you?" she asks.

He responds, "I am Lucifer, an angel of the Lord."

Lucifer...She liked the way his name felt in her heart, how it rolled off her tongue like liquid fire, spreading an unknown warmth between them. "I am Dinah, daughter of Adam and Eve," she says.

It was the beginning of something raw, primal...

Forbidden.
