Hot Los Angeles days could make anyone want to sit down and enjoy an ice cream. Colorado in the middle of the winter was the complete opposite though. A hot beverage was wanted by the team, and to leave the office.
"...this cafe, in particular, has frequent meetings. There are seven rooms that are rented out regularly and the main shop itself is surrounded by glass and tables are open, making it attract many tourists as they can use the snow on the background without being outside. Add in the fact that the shop is run like a restaurant and people are more relaxed. They feel less pressure to leave quickly and some even order more food." Reid stopped as Derek shook his head and laughed.
"I just asked what it was called and how far away it was." Some more laughs were heard before the bells sounded to alert the staff of their presence.
Sure enough, the walls were all glass and there were meeting rooms but they seemed to be in a state of disrepair.
"Sorry. We are having the meeting rooms renovated before the tourists all get here but feel free to take any table." A few individuals had sat on a few tables, one of the employees was emptying another table and the air seemed calm and a lot warmer than outside."Check please." At the beckon, the blonde woman who was sat doing very little behind the desk walked over to the table. The small group sat and spoke quietly before eventually, they brought out money.
It seemed that the BAU didn't want everyone to hear and so sat around the corner. As long as they didn't take to shouting the room wouldn't be able to hear them.
"Leanne. Can you tend to the new customers after you have taken those dishes into the kitchen?" Her voice wasn't too short of a shout as the blonde took the money and then she walked over to another as she saw his hand was up. The man sat alone on the table but he seemed engrossed.
"Hello. My name is Leanne and I will be your server today. Here are our menus and I will be back out in a moment to take your orders." None of them even bothered to look up as they took the menus and stared at the closed files.
"We are going to have to return with a profile already made. This sheriff is determined to do it on his own. This town has relied solely on his department for the whole of his career and now he has to hand it over and he is unable to let it go so easily." Hotch spoke to the team whilst they scanned all offered drinks and sides.
"The killer is finding pleasure in making people watch. The suffering is prolonged for children while adults move on quickly. He has knowingly allowed some of the kids to survive." For the life of them, the reasons could not be found.
"Hello. What can I get for you all? Uh, if this table is too small for the laptop we can bring another one over." Her smile was wide and Garcia looked up first. A nod and a smile had been given in response.
A small grinding was heard as a close-by table was grabbed and the agents close to Garcia moved to allow for it. Their orders had been given and the list was made quickly. The waitress had just spun around when she was called back.
"Do you have any paper? Even the back of a drawing placemat for children." Spencer looked up as soon as he finished speaking and went quiet with wide eyes. Leanne didn't seem to even blink at the eye contact.
"Of course. I will bring it out with all your drinks." Her figure was lost from view as she walked over to the desk.
"Guys. Midnight is here, " Spencer loudly admitted as surprise took him for a short second. Eyes all looked up and around before the front of the shop was found and she was totalling up the order.
"Hey, Sophia. Sorry, could I just take a second to call my folks back home? They have been hassling me for ages now about something and I just want to get it over with." The other woman nodded quickly while they both worked on the drinks.
