<James' pov> Sorry I keep making it his pov, I've just fallen in love with writing him.

"So, what was it that TJ had you talking about last night? He had your attention for half an hour right?"

"Oh, I just told him about Scotland and stuff...I don't know him enough to talk about family or the like, just random school shit." Something about the way he said it, or something like that, made me want to doubt him.

"You sure that's it? Did he not give you any reason why he was being so forward about getting you to talk about the last three years?" He moved the food around his plate with a fork, obviously getting agitated by my questioning. It wasn't like I meant to pry, it just seemed odd to me that this random dude comes out of nowhere and wants to know Aidens life story.

"I don't know," He stabbed a stalk of brocoli, "Everyone has been going on and on about how curious he is. Maybe he just has this weird complex. But James, this is like the third time this week you've asked me about it. Honestly, he didn't say anything to piss me off that much, it's okay."

I had a hard time believing this of course. He was acting more skittish than usual, avoiding me more and just spacing out, and I know the only one who has him thinking this much is that dude. Another thing, although I'm not as close with him, Cole has been keeping me updated about his little friend and it seems he's been acting up too.

The both of them had a falling out, that's for sure.

"Sorry, at least try not to take it out on the food." He scoffs before shoving a piece of dry chicken into his mouth.

"The food in this place is jank anyway, I'm leaving." This is the same as what my little cousin does when things don't go his way.

I didn't know college was a place for kids.

"You need to eat," I grab hold of his hoodie hem and drag him back down, "Muscles don't come cheap you know, and you need them."

"You're kidding, right?" I'm relieved to see a smirk on his face as he goes to pinch my arm. "I've got bigger biceps than these skinny twigs."

"Ow! You know too much muscle weight puts strain on the body when I run. Also, running is all in the legs. And I'd tell you to feel my thigh, but we all know that's not going to happen."

I shouldn't sound so diappointed.

"Not unless you want me to feel up your thigh?" His smirk gets bigger and eyes squint harder, "That what you want?"

"Can you two stop flirting? Right in front of my salad no less, get a room." Tripp was really not in the mood for our banter this evening.

"Sorry," I knew that he'd had a bad day on the track so I didn't want to poke the bear, no matter how curious I was about what he was like when pushed.

"Oi, he was just trying to cheer me up. What's got your panties in a twist anyway?" I'm a bit disappointed he figured out that I was trying to lift his spirits. I wonder how I could be more discreet.

"That damn coach!" Oh here we go again. "He's lucky I'm a patient guy, if I wasn't then this whole thing would be taken up with his bosses immediately!"

"Something happen in track?" Instead of Tripp, who was violently chomping away at an undercooked potatoe, he looks at me. I was just about to answer too when I felt a warm hand on my shoulder.

"Not much. Just that this guy has been skipping warm ups before the runs. How haven't you broken your leg yet? Maybe it's what you deserve for not looking after yourself."

"Shut up Cole," I look up over my shoulder and see him grinning at Tripp, to mock him I bet.

"There are much faster ways to break a leg, skipping warm ups takes too long. I could always just step on you."
