Basically this chapter holds absolutely no relevance to the fact of me and Phil, but it happened along the way so I've chosen to include it. You can choose not to read it or you can to me it doesn't matter.
Freshman year went by so fast. When the teachers tell you those years go by in a blink of an eye, they really mean it. It was summer before I knew it and my friendship with Phil had progressed me and more. We were really close and he had become less awkward around me. I was worried it was all going to be ruined when I went away to Mexico for the summer.
My grandparents were coming to visit since they lived on a totally different continent outside the United States, it's where my parents came from. Little did I know that they had brought my cousin with them! I hadn't seen her in over three years, and I had noticed small things that made me curious and if I had dug a little more I probably could've figured it out. I was honestly so eurphoric it was wonderful. I was going to Mexico with my cousin, it was great.
Now getting to Mexico was fun the flight was uneventful there wasn't any trouble at all. On the drive to the resort me and my cousin Monique were dancing and singing our hearts out, we were staying in Cancun and I knew it would be a fun time. At the place we stayed at you got wifi for one hour in each of the lobby's. You had to pay extra for it to be in your room and we were'nt doing that so it meant, no talking to Phil. Which I guess was a good thing.
I was sat sitting in my room my family had made us explore the whole damn place when we first got there. There was a beach, pools, restaurants, I mean they basically had it all. They had this teen club that me and my cousin had decided to check out. There was wifi and ping pong tables and lots of things me and my cousin both knew we would be in there quite a lot.
The first two days went by in a blur. The next few days not so much. All I remember was leaving my family with my cousin to go to the club and today, there were two new faces and they were quite handsome too if I do say so myself. Now me and my cousin decided let's play some ping pong, now I was definitely not good at it, and at one point accidentally hit it off the table and hit one of the two guys. He turned around and threw the ball back I looked at him apoligetically. I decided I had enough of ping pong and went on the laptop to talk to some friends back home. Everything was in spanish lucky for me I had to take that in school so it wasn't too hard to navigate. The club closed at 10 which seemed pretty childish to me but it did so me and my cousin were some of the last people to leave. Her and I were walking back when we realized, three guys were walking behind us. Now they were all around our age and so I wasn't like scared of them but I was worried as to why they were following us. I dropped my voice to whisper as I talked to my cousin. They were still bloody following us and they were obnoxiously laughing. I got this idea which at the time I thought was pretty damn brilliant. I turned to my cousin.
"I'm going to run ahead maybe if you're alone they'll leave us alone."
Before she could respond I was running like a mad woman. I was glad I had taken track because if I had run slow I would've felt like an idiot. Of course I just stood outside the building we were staying in because my cousin had the room key. As she rounded the corner I realized they were still following her only there were two of them now, where was the third one I had hit in the head? As me and Monique climbed the stairs to the third floor, the third boy jumped out and scared the shit out of us. Little did we know we shared the same floor, and they were only two doors down. Me and my cousin scrambled into our room but stood by the door.
"Hey you arse let me in!"
Screamed the one I hit in the head, I noticed they had an accent. It wasn't British that was for sure. Finally the boy was let in but another was locked out in his place. Me and my cousin peeked out the door and he waved he introduced himself as Quinn. My cousin and I had agreed to walk around with him and the two other boys learning they were all from Scottland. The one I hit in the head was named Jack, and the other I had no bloody clue. We walked him back to his room, apparently they had only just met him. He was going home the next day. My cousin and I walked around with them for the rest of the day it was wonderful.
My cousin and I went back to the room and the following night was the same only this time, Jack and I left Monique and Quinn. We sprinted away, and when we went back for them, they were gone. We thought if they were smart they'd go back to the room and the idiot I was I had given the room key to Monique. I mean she was older after all. So jack checked his room, now it's quite hot in Mexico so he invited me inside.
I know what you're thinking smart move huh? Going alone in a room with a boy you just met who's probably just filled with hormones but he really was a gentlemen. It was his room and he had gone into the bathroom just to switch his shirt. I sat myself on Quinn's bed. We were both bloody exhausted but he kept waking me up, and he then drifted off so I threatened to pour water on him. Somehow we ended up on the same bed, he had gotten up and I shoved a water bottle under the pillow. Jack noticed it was gone and tackled me trying to find it. He fell asleep again, and I threatened him with the water yet again, so he pinned me down and fell asleep on top of me.
Eventually we wandered our way out the room and to the pool where Monique and Quinn had been making out fully clothed. Jack then threatened to jump in with me, which he did. We didn't want to disturb them so we swam away. Jack picked me up and carried me around all night it was romantic.
The next few days were the same we hung out with them daily on the third night Jack had made out with me and it was all wonderful. We fought in the short time we knew each other, and he carried me out the pool when I fell asleep in his arms. He was worried I would get hypothermia because I was shivering so much so he gave me his shirt.
He didn't even let Quinn touch his shirt he made me feel loved especially in that moment. Of course though I got grounded... on vacation! The last night to! Apparently we were too young to stay out until 4 AM with boys we just met it was awful. I left them a note saying our goodbye's and they returned one. I followed and added them on social media and still have them to this day. I cried leaving them because he was the first boy to show me that much love. It was beautiful and I cherish that memory even though Phil ruined things shortly after. Phil made a mess of me.
