Chapter 22- The Party |Part 2|

"You ready, Sonic?" Sonic heard Tails' voice speaking to him from afar.

"Yeah, I am," Sonic said as he was standing in front of his mirror in his room, adjusting his bowtie while looking at his reflection. "Alright, I'm done. Let's go!" He walked downstairs to see Tails standing beside the door.

"Woah, I like your white mask." Sonic said to him.

"Yeah, while you were up there. I decided to make you one too." Tails took out a masquerade mask and gave it to him.

"Wow." Sonic was amazed looking at the mask that was of a blue color. "Thanks. I'll be sure to wear it." He put on the mask. "Alright, now let's go to the Acorn castle for this party."

"Ugh. I sure don't like being dressed up all formal like this." Scourge was wearing a tuxedo and a blue mask.

"Lighten up, Scourge. It's just so we can sneak into the party." Amy was wearing a red gown with a cherry-red mask on.

"That's easy for you to say. I had to steal this...because there is no way I am wasting any money on buying a tuxedo that I won't use."

"Come on, you're not going to be wearing it for long." Amy said. "Let's go." She said. She took his hand and began walking fast.

"Geez, fine then." Said Scourge, going along with her.

Scourge and Amy were allowed to enter the castle as no one noticed them as they were wearing masks, so they just blended in like normal people would.

They walked towards the ballroom and were in awe, when they saw it was lit with a crystal white chandelier hanging above the ceiling. Meanwhile, while the room was filled with other Mobians-some of them were chatting away and others were dancing or observing what was around them.

Amy let go of Scourge's hand. "Wow, this place is beautiful. Look at how this room is shining," she looked over to Scourge.

"Yeah, this place sure looks nice." Scourge said. "But remember what we're here for. We're not here for a good time."

Amy had lost her train of thought with seeing how the party looked beautiful, that she had forgotten what her real mission was-to steal some gems from the royal Acorn family. She knew that it wasn't her time to just spend there at the ball, even though it sure looked like it was going to be a magical night in her eyes. "Right." Amy felt disappointed. "After all, this was my plan to do this."

"Right." Scourge said. "Now, act natural. We can't say each other's names, or else, Sonic and the others will know that we're here. So for the time being, don't use my name and I won't use your's. Got that?"

"Yeah, sure." Amy said. "Now, I'm going to be taking a look around."

"Okay, but don't be gone for too long." Scourge said. "Remember to meet me in the backyard at the castle's garden."

"Sure." Amy nodded her head. "I'll see you later."

Scourge nodded his head back to her and he walked away to a different direction.

Amy walked to the table that had  desserts and random plates of food on it. She saw a serving of strawberries. She got a toothpick and picked one and dipped it into the chocolate fountain. She ate the chocolate-drizzled strawberry, "Mmm, that's yummy." She ate a few more and walked off.

She decided to just stand and watch Mobians dance with each other. She thought to herself, 'Wow this is so romantic, seeing all these people dance with each other. It suddenly makes me think about love. Love? Why am I thinking about love? No way.'

Just as she thought that, she saw a hedgehog approach her. "Hi, would you like to dance with me?"

"Yeah, sure." Amy took his hand. They started dancing. They looked into each other's eyes. She felt like it somehow felt familiar to her, but she couldn't figure out what it was. Her intuition was telling her that she knew this person and that she felt safe and comfortable being with him.

But why would she feel this way around--??? She still couldn't tell who this was. She shook the odd feeling and decided to ignore it.

After the dance with this mysterious hedgehog, she said, "Thanks for this dance. It was fun. But I have to go." She let go of his hands and walked away.

She went to the castle gardens. All she could hear was the relaxing sound of the water fountain spurting out water. It sounded like a rainfall pouring down into the ground.

"Wait!" She didn't know that the hedgehog had ran after her.

Amy looked around. "Where are you?" she cut herself off when she saw him.

"There you are." A hedgehog came out of a bush behind her and walked towards her. "Finally, you're here." She looked into his blue eyes.

"Alright, now I want you to stay here and wait a bit while I go take down those guards and security and I'll come back to get you. So, don't go anywhere." He told Amy.

"Right, I will be sure to do that." She nodded her head to him and saw him go off.

She took a deep breath with her eyes closed, and sighed in relief. She flinched when she felt a tap on her shoulder. "There you are. I've been looking all over for you." She turned around to see a male hedgehog.

"Hmm? You got back here so fast? Huh?" She said. "Why didn't you take that long? That was awful quick of you to do so?"

"Well, I was trying to find you and--" he hold her hands and gazed into her eyes. "This may sound weird, coming from a hedgehog that you don't really know that you just met. But I want to say that I feel like you are familiar to me somehow and that I think you are--"

Amy felt confused. She felt like she was familiar with him? With his presence? But how could she be familiar with Scourge?
