The next morning the fog was thicker than the day before. The men woke to the buzzing of alarm clocks at nine in the morning.
Caz was the first one up. He dressed in ripped black jeans, a navy blue v neck and his black doc martens. He stretched leaving his bed unmade and headed down stairs.
"Tsk. Damn arm. What a pain."
He popped some naproxen then headed to the library to start doing more research right away. He had to find an answer quickly. For his friends, and to please his father.
Sam was the second to awake. Before he got dressed he checked out his window for the weather report. Pulling the curtains aside he let out a disappointed sigh.
"The blur. It's thicker. Is this because one of the Hissi was hurt? "
His thoughts came to a close as he heard Caz shut his door and head downstairs.
"Someone else is awake. I should hurry."
Sam dressed in grey jeans, a light blue button down, and a cream argyle vest. Slipping on his oxfords he made his way down the corridor to Caz's room. Knocking on the door he spoke clearly.
"Caz. Buddy. It's morning. You up?"
Since Caz was already in the library by this point he didn't receive an answer. Sam opened the door ajar, just to see if Caz was in bed. Seeing that he was gone he knew then that Caz was the one awake. Sam made his way further down the corridor to Ethane's room. He knocked on his door and once again spoke loud and clear.
"E. Buddy. It's Sam. You up?"
Sam walked in to see Ethane still knocked out. He approached E as Nugget stood up and arched his back in a powerful stretch. He meowed as if to tell Sam good morning.
Sam smiled at Nugget.
"Morning to you too. Did E wake up at all last night?"
Nugget sat down yawning then looked to Ethane as if to tell Sam that he hasn't moved. Sam nodded, and gave a hushed laugh.
"Boy E. Now even I am talking to your stupid cat. Come on. Get up. You've scared us enough."
Sam put his hand on Ethane's shoulder and shook him lightly.
"Waaaaaaake up dumbass. Come on E."
Ethane grunted and his eyes slowly fluttered open.
"..."
Sam smiled.
"He lives! I mean- you are alive right?"
After two minutes of no response he questioned Ethane again.
"You alive? Or are you a Zombie? Helloooo~!"
Ethane blinked a few times then looked at Sam with a blank stare. Sam became worried because of Ethane's memory problems.
"...E buddy. Come on, say something. You remember me right?"
Ethane blinked.
"I do. I remember everything. Everything. I remember it all."
Sam laughed nervously.
"Remember what? E? You're freaking me out."
Ethane sat up in bed petting Nugget.
"My family. This cabin. The Hissi. My grandmother and her songs."
Sam sighed feeling stress rushing back now that he abandoned the comfort of his bed.
"Yeah? Well.. t-that's - good. What does that mean for all of us... And how are your feeling?"
Ethane smiled at Nugget who was purring and rubbing against his hand. He glanced back over his shoulder to Sam.
"I'm just a little sore. But you both saved me. Thank you. I think - I have an idea that can get us out of here. Get Caz and meet me in the music room in ten minutes."
Sam smiled and nodded.
"I hope this isn't as crazy as your idea to rush out there after Caz on your own. We'll be there! Take it easy."
Sam rushed out of Ethane's room and ran around the cabin to find Caz. Which was harder than you would think, since the place was giganteus and maze like. As Sam hunted for Caz, Ethane was getting dressed. Today he styled in his black leather pants with zippers on the pockets, a white tee shirt, his feathered earring, and his slip ons. He brushed his hair and Nuggets fur and styled his hair in a side braid as per usual. He then hurried to the music room to get things ready.
Sam finally found Caz in the library working as hard as a bear in the summer getting ready for hibernation.
"Wow. Never thought I would see the day."
Sam leaned against the wall at the end of the isle of books where Caz was searching. He held three books in his left arm, had small piles around him with two open, and was scanning the spines of the books with his right hand. He glanced over to Sam.
"You're awake... Never see what?"
Sam crossed his arms and sighed as he walked forward. He squatted down as he picked up a book.
"Caz Winters. Reading and doing research by choice? First thing in the morning?"
Caz went back to the books.
"I don't really have a choice. None of us do. We all want to make it out of this alive. So..."
Sam nodded.
"Yeah, you're right. - Hey uhm. E woke up this morning."
Caz didn't answer but rather just glanced at Sam then back to the spines of books as if to motion him to continue speaking.
"He was really quiet at first. I was afraid he got more sacrambed than before, but he seems to be okay. Actually he seemed great. He said he remembered a lot about his past and he wanted to meet us in the music room. He has a plan... How crazy it is... Heh. Lord. I don't know, but we should meet him. He seemed eager."
Caz sighed without even turning around.
"You're telling me. He nearly dies, then wakes up and magically remembers nearly everything... And he has a plan that requires us to meet him, in the music room?"
