Chapter 1: Band Girls

Kotaro's POV
I felt a sudden warmth envelop my whole body, it really felt it has been forever since I woke up. Sunshine...? My body is still holding me back to lie on this soft fluffy bed of mine. I open my eyes, I could feel the gentle wind waking me up from the open window.

"It's morning already?! I feel like I'm forgetting something!" I yawned. "Oh, that's right... School!" I wasn't feeling too enthusiastic about it, in fact more than anything... It ticks me off. I'm no philomath yearning for knowledge, I wanna sit down in front of my pc and play more games.

I look around and see that the room is still in its normal condition, but I just can't seem to shake off this uneasy feeling. My breathing seems to get heavier as I feel this uneasiness. It's like the feeling of everything being out of place but... Why...?

I look at my nightstand and checked my phone. 6:03?! I'm late!!!

"Kotaro! Wake up, or you'll be late for school." my mom calls me from the kitchen. I look around and I see a heart shaped pin, my childhood friend left it in my hands when I we were both little... I wonder how is she now? I feel really sad about the time we moved out of town... Really cliché to be honest... It's like something out of a tragic romance story.

I left my room and did a bit of stretching I heard calls from mom, dinner was ready. As I walk down thee stairs, mom and Sachi greets me.

"Good morning, the meal is ready"

"Brother you sleepyhead, what took you so long? Is it the thing boys do in the morning?" she teases.

"Sachi!!!"

"Sorry mom, just joking~" she says sarcastically.

"That was inappropriate." mom scolds her in a serious tone.

I look at the table, and gazed at how good the food looks like. Fried egg and miso soup, mom is such a good cook. I can't help it, my mouth is watering at this very second.

"Son take a seat now and eat before your food gets cold." my mom said in a gentle voice. I sat beside Sachi and take a bite from the fried egg... It's so delicious... and... nostalgic...?

"Onii-chan, were high schoolers now you know? What are you crying for?" my sister says abruptly.

"Huh?"

"Y-you're crying... Is something wrong my dear?" my mom said in a worried tone. I touched my faced underneath my eyes... It's tears. I can't seek to think of anything why I am feeling like this, we've been always living like this... But why does it feels so alien? I shook my head in response to mom.

I don't know why, but I feel mixed emotions right now... Is it sadness? Happiness? Anxiety? I don't know what to think right now...

"I-I'm fin-" I said but got cut off. I fainted. I felt my consciousness as it slowly fades away.

Timeskip
10:00 A.M.

I woke up in a hospital bed, I wonder what happened. Was it all just a dream? I looked to my right and saw mom sitting on a chair, she noticed I was awake. She showed a smile, it doesn't look as bright at all... It's more like a concerned, relieved one.

It's kinda frustrating to think that I worried her this much... "Do you feel better now?" mom asked with a trembled voice. I nodded in response, but I can't help but wonder what happened. Only thing I could think of is I fell unconcious.

"What happened to me, mom? Did I collapse?" I asked out of sheer curiousity, after I said that... She seems kinda relived now that I'm back to my senses, I'm really thankful to have a mom like her. She nodded.

I felt tears rolling down my eyes again, I turned around and tried to hide it. After a while mom explained me what happened, I don't know why... It feels so nostalgic to talk with her like this. It's... weird...

Timeskip
5:15 P.M.

We got back home, a few hours ago, I lay on my bed, there I played games that I installed on my phone. I was trying out the mobile port for Neo Fantasy Online, I am really having a great time. After a while, I got bored and decided to go out for a walk.

On my way a somehow familiar place caught my attention. "Galaxy? It doesn't look half bad at all." It was a live house I figured, but there's this feeling that I can't seem to shake off.

It's like this place has some importance to me, or does it? I've never been in this place, never have seen it. I looked around and the place seemed packed inside.

I was curious as I had entered, I'm really nervous when it comes to new places. Bravo six, going dark. I took a step into this place and unexpectedly had a bright atmosphere, a girl could be seen at the counter. "Not as bad as I thought would be." I murmured. Let's do this. "I walked to the counter to get some tickets, the girl seems too really enjoy working here."

As I walk by she looked at me and flashed a really relaxed smile, I felt my nerves relax. "Good afternoon, here to watch a live show sir?" she greets. She looks like a high schooler, I wonder what school she's at. "Yes, I'll buy a ticket." I smiled back.

Afterwards, I proceeded to the live room. As I approach the doors, I could already hear a really catchy tone with great synergy from the stage. I was anxious... I grit my teeth and went inside.

As I arrived, the next band was about to perform as cheers were heard from the ecstatic fans.

I was stunned by how good they performed... It's phenomenal! Something else caught my attention. "I found it!" a girl with cat ears looking hair yelled. "Eeeeh? I can't hear you!!" answered the blonde pigtailed girl, with an annoyed face.

"T-this is amazing!" its the first time I've ever witnessed something like this, I cannot believe it. I hear someone in the audience. "This is! The Girls Band Era!"
