One Evening

The water droplets dripping out of her window reminded her that she was thirsty, so she stood from her table, took off her glasses and walked towards the kitchen. Despite a lot of pouring of love from the clouds towards the earth, the monsoon also provided her the advantage of several days of  "work from home". Today was one of them. She poured herself a glass of water and quenched her thirst. Setting the glass on the kitchen counter she glanced at the living room, the appartment was a 3 bedroom set with an open kitchen, the living room and the kitchen were slightly separated by a dining table. Suddenly her eyes drifted at the image sitting at the couch. A mixture of fear, disgust and anger washed over her face. A squeal almost left her mouth but she covered it with her trembling hands. The last time they encountered each other she was crying and screaming like a mad woman, luckily her husband was there to save her. But he was unable to catch him. She knew he would come back, especially at this time of the year and here they were both in the same space. She knew she has to act fast before he could notice her and move. She looked around and grabbed the pan. She tip-toe towards the living room with her heart thudding loud in her chest . As she reached the couch from behind she tightened her grip around the handle of the pan and before he could sense her presence, she attacked him not once, twice but thrice. Breathing heavily she moved close to check for any movement but there was none, he lied there still, cold and smashed. Suddenly the doorbell rang. Finding her husband standing at the front door a wave a relief washed over her face. Giving him an open teeth smile and pointing towards the living room with her hand griping the pan she said " Look Honey! I did it."
He glanced over the living area and looked back at her. Walking towards the kitchen she put the pan in the sink and poured two glasses of water, giving him one she gulped hers. With confusion clearly spread on his face he saw her gulping the glass of water like she was thirsty for a long time, a few strands of her dark hair escaped the messy bun on the top of her head and now were dancing on her forehead and nape.
She looked at him and said " Well I did the hard work now you do the easy one. Dispose off the body and remember to leave no trail behind."
Now the confusion was replaced by suspicion, these words from her mouth sounded so odd. "What did you do?" he asked.
"You will find your answer once you will give a look at the couch" she said with pride in her voice.
He moved towards the couch and started laughing at what he saw. He was laughing so hard he had to sit on the floor to save himself from falling, so basically it was a ROFL movement for him.
" What! you know I am scared to death of cockroaches and I killed one today. I felt like the only soldier fighting the whole army with bare hands."she said with irritation in her voice. He stood and wrapped his arms around his lovely wife. " Yeah sweetheart you are very brave, you killed a cockroach on your own without any protection, God knows what could have happened if he decided to fly around the house" he said and started laughing again. She smacked his arm and joined him.
