Astrid and Hiccup walked inside Astrid's apartment. The sun was about to settle and the red colors filled up the apartment.
Astrid takes a deep breath as she looks around the place she regretted leaving this morning.

Astrid had to answer some questions and testify for the police. They also made her go through a very thorough medical check to make sure she was completely okay. The other students had thanked her for being so brave and sprayed the intruder with mace. As well had the police force also thanked her for her bravery. But Astrid's thankfulness was reserved for her professor and the sniper on the roof.

She had gone to her professor right before leaving with Hiccup, to thank him for jumping infront of her. He had hugged her and told her she was the real brave one.

Hiccup puts down Astrid's backpack. He then goes to hug her from behind as he sees the girl hesitating to feel at home.

"Are you okay?" He asks and she nods.

"Yeah just a little shaken" she says back quietly. Her voice sounds so plainly to Hiccup and he can feel she's still tense after the shooting. She turns around in his arms and pecks his lips.

"I want to go get out of these clothes" she says and walks over to her closet. You can't see the blood clearly on her red tank top but Astrid could feel it and she wanted it off. She hands Hiccup his jacket that he put on Astrid as they went home.

UCLA made sure every student got a ride home as they were closing down the school indefinitely. Everyone who lived in the dorms and were uncomfortable about that, got a hotel room paid for them by the university.
But all of them of them stayed. The students wanted to stay together.

Astrid stripped down. She took off her bloody red shirt and jeans. The police had offered to cut her out of her clothes and give her new ones but Astrid just wanted to go home.
She puts on pajama shorts and a oversized t-shirt. Her breathing slows down as she puts the T-shirt over her head.

"Hungry?" He asked her but she shook her head. She didn't want anything.

"Okay do you want to be alone?" He asked her. He remembered how Ruff and Heather wanted to stay with her but Astrid said they should call their families and go home.

"No stay" Astrid said looking at him with pleading eyes "please".

"Of course. I'm not going anywhere" he said and hugged her ensuring her that he was going to stay for as long as she needed.

"Can we go back to bed?" Astrid says into his chest.

"Of course" he replies and picks her up bride style. Astrid laughs a bit of his corny actions. Which feels good to laugh and feel normal.
He placed her on the bed and lays beside her.

"You haven't kept your promise" she said and looked at him.

"What?" He asked confusedly to what promise he hadn't kept.

"You're not shirtless" Hiccup laugh with her but eventually takes off his shirt.

"Happy?" He asks and she smiles.

"Very" she kisses him deep and passionately. All she wanted was for everything to go back to normal.

"Well you haven't kept your promise either" he says and while playing with her hair.

"What?" She asks more confused because she didn't promise him anything.

"You promised to make tea" He said and rolled on top of her.

"I did not" She says loudly and punches his shoulder.

"Come on everything is better with tea" Hiccup remembered drinking a lot of tea after his mom died to help with his anxiety and now he just wanted to help Astrid as much as possible.

"Are you British or something?" She asked playfully as she flips them over so she is sitting on his lap with one leg on each side.

"I may be" He said with his best British accent.

"Oh milady please it's teatime" He continues and kisses her hand. Silence feel upon the two as they disappeared into each others eyes. Like an enchantment they both felt their hearts flutter. And then three words escaped their lips like was it written in god's manuscript.

"I love you"

Astrid jumped off Hiccup and they both sat up straight.

"Did you just say that?" They both said in choir. Their eyes are wide and mouths open.

"It's way to early" just 5 seconds ago they had both said those three words I love you together at the same time. And exactly one second after saying it they both realized they were crazy.

"Yeah it's way way to early" Hiccup agrees while nodding intensely.

But that doesn't change the fact that they both said it. They both felt it. And they both meant it. Awkward silence falls over them as they stand there awkwardly waiting for someone to speak up.

"Did you mean it?" Hiccup asks. He has never told a significant other he loves them. And telling someone after only knowing them for a month is a completely other step he didn't know he was ready for.

"I don't know" She says and looks down. Not sure if it was the shock from almost dying or if she really loved him.

"I meant it" he says carefully and quietly. Astrid looks surprised. It felt too soon but then again she felt it. She loves him. And she did before the accident and after.

"I meant it too" She replies just as quiet. Hiccup looks up from the bed and straight into Astrid's eyes. They both smile and laugh. They felt like teenagers as they went in for a loving kiss. Astrid couldn't stop smiling through the kiss and neither could Hiccup.

As the sun disappeared behind the horizon Hiccup and Astrid were having fun.
They put on music, danced, ordered take out and kissed every time they made eye contact. Like they couldn't get enough of each other.

The world outside disappeared with the sun and it was just the two of them.

After everything I felt the two needed a romantic break. So this little fluffy chapter may not seem needed but I feel like it is. I hope each and every one of you is having an amazing day <3
And if you're not I hope this helped make it a little better.

Spoiler for next chapter:
"Oh yes, you're going to be on the next plane back home!"
