"Could I get your number?"
I fumbled a bit but I took his phone and typed in my number, I handed back his phone and he smiled. I watched as he started to climb down the ladder, but he stopped so i could only see his head and shoulders.
"See you around [y/n]" My name came so easily off his tongue before he slid the rest of the way down. I could feel heat coming to my cheeks as I realised I might like this guy, but the feeling soon disappeared as I recalled the inside of his hand had the black ink of a soul-mark - and i don't have a hand-print anywhere on me.
I sighed and went back to moving all the furniture to the far corner of the attic. After a little dad had brought up my bed, a few boxes, shelves, and clean sheets. He also helped me to arrange them around the way I wanted them.
Once most of the furniture was placed and all the un-opened boxes were to the side, dad left me alone to spend some time getting used to the room and to process things. I grabbed my phone and noticed I had two new messages. I unlocked my phone to see the messages were from an unknown number.
I opened the chat and read the texts.
Unknown: Hey [y/n]! It's Sugawara!
Unknown: My parents and I were at your house earlier..?
He had text me as if I would of already forgotten him. I smiled and added his contact to my phone.
Me: I remember XD
Suga ^^: Thats good
Me: Wut u doin?
Suga ^^: Nothing..u?
Me: Same.
Me: O! I forgot to ask, where's your soul-mark?
Even though I was observant enough to know it was his hand, I am going to ask anyway, to confirm it and cry about it in the future.
Suga ^^: Oh! Yea it's on my hand
Me: Aww cute! Like u hold your soulmates hand!
Suga: idk. It's as if I'm grabbing their arm or something @^@
Me: weird
Our conversation was long, it had eventually stopped because Suga was called to have dinner. I was wondering why he would have dinner so soon after lunch before i looked at the time.
7;00pm
I had been texting Suga for six hours. I put my phone on charge at a nearby power point and slid down the ladder and went on a small search for dad.
"Hey Kiddo! I'm thinking about ordering some pasta, what type do you want?"
I found dad on the couch watching god-knows-what on the TV. I nodded my head and told him what i wanted, before grabbing the remote and changing the channel till I found the sports channel. Luckily for me, volleyball was playing..
When I was in elementary school, mum had introduced sport to me. She introduced things like hockey, soccer, and tennis, but the sport I wanted to try was volleyball.
"Sweety, you're too short to play!"
She would always tell me I was too short and would never be able to, but I still went for it when I reached middle school. To be fair, no one chose me to be on their team because I was tiny but I knew the basics of every position. So when we were doing warm ups, I wouldn't spike, I would quite happily receive every ball that came my way.
That's when people started to recognise that i'm not so useless, and I became a libero. I was still going strong at the start of high school, that was until the accident. Mum was driving me home from practise when a drunk driver out of nowhere came at us with full speed. we couldn't do anything to avoid getting hit.
The car rammed into us, causing the car to tumble and spin out of control. When it stopped, in a haze I watched as the other car sped off and witnesses on the phone and others coming to see if we were alright. I blacked out and regained vision every now and again. I remember being in the back of an ambulance a nurse at my side keeping me awake and asking me questions.
