- Christina's POV -

I've been in Miami for a week. I've spent most of my time at the studio, even when I wasn't supposed to be there. I was only scheduled to record there for 3 days but ended up hanging around there almost every day this week. Most of the time I wasn't even recording songs, it was just quiet there so I spent my time thinking and writing. I've realized that it was a good thing to get out of LA. Everything is so hectic and fast-paced there that I almost forget to just take a step back and breathe for a little. I hate to say it but I'm really gonna miss Miami when I leave.

Anyway, I was at the studio, curled up in a chair staring off into space with a notepad and pen in hand, trying to think of lyrics to write. So far nothing had come to mind. It was really frustrating me to know what I wanted to write but not being able to figure out necessarily how to write it.

I was enjoying the quiet until it was disturbed by five obnoxious voices talking loudly from down the hall. I rolled my eyes as the voices got louder. My mouth then dropped to the floor as the door opened.

Of course it was Adam Levine and his stupid band.

"What the fuck?!" I announced loudly, making the boys freeze as they noticed me in the corner of the room.

"Shit. Bye Adam!" Jesse said, before he and the rest of the band ran out the room, leaving Adam behind.

"You and I have a habit of running into each other. Must be fate." He smirked.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, wearily.

"I'm here to record obviously." He said. I swear if he had long hair he would of flipped it back.

"Out of all places to record, you fly out to Miami and come to this studio. This has to be some kind of sick joke."

"It's no joke, honey. Our producer happens to be unable to fly out to LA at this present moment in time so we had to fly out here."

"Well, this is just great!" I said, throwing my hands up in the air. "I come out here to get away from you and what do you do?! Show up in the exact same place as me once again. I can't believe the luck I have right now."

"Wait," He began seriously, "You came out here to get away from me?"

"Yes, Adam Levine, I am in Miami because of you. Because you somehow keep managing to screw my career repeatedly. So before you manage to fuck me over again, I'm going to leave." I said in a huff, before I grabbed my belongings and made my way towards the door.

"Christina," He began, grabbing my arm. "Whatever I've done to hurt your career, or you for that matter, I'm sorry. I never meant for it to get as far as to drive you out of the city. Let me make it up to you."

I studied him for a moment, trying to figure out if his sentiments were genuine. I'd come to the conclusion that they were, but this jerk had given me more trouble than I could handle over the past three weeks. There was no way I was going to offer him kindness in return, not yet anyway.

"It's fine, Adam." I said, jerking my arm out of his grasp. "You don't have to pretend to feel sorry for me, that way I don't have to pretend that I give a shit about how you feel."

I stormed out the room, slamming the door shut behind me. I think that went well.

- Adam's POV -

I raised my hand up to the door to knock. I hesitated for a moment before shaking my head and knocking lightly on the wood.

The door swung open in a matter of seconds to reveal the petite, young blonde standing in front of me. She had surprise mixed with a little bit of anger written across her face. I don't blame her either, even I was surprised when I managed to get her room number off of the hotel manager in the lobby. Heck, I was surprised I even found out which hotel she was staying in. The FBI should hit me up, maybe I can teach them a few things.

"You." Was all she said.

"May I come in?" I asked, as politely as possible.

"Why?" She asked, as her eyes wandered up and down my body. It was like her eyes were expecting to find an answer to her question faster than my mouth would speak it.

"I just want to talk."

She looked at me curiously, like she was still trying to figure me out, before stepping aside and holding the door open.
