Prologue

 PROLOGUE

Everything has two sides. Everybody has two sides. That is why the sun has the moon and night has day. That is why coins have heads and tails, and games - winners and losers. 

While some see the good in things, others choose to ignore it and focus on the bad. I have always been an optimistic person - taking only the good in things and leaving the unnecessary bad ones. 

Yet there is one thing that I can never get 'okay' with. And that is moving. 

Some might see the good in moving to a new place but I see or feel nothing good about it. Moving to a new place means leaving everything behind and trying to fit in all over again. I had always been the quiet girl in class, who everyone was curious about. I never really had a lot of friends. Just a handful of them but I was happy with it. 

Well, until I had to move. 

Again. 

Since dad's job  requires him to constantly be on a move, we never really got to properly settle down anywhere. Once in every two years or so we shift. And not just to another state, we end up going half the way across the world, to a whole new country. 

And that is how I ended up here - in Detroit, Michigan.

Well, let me introduce myself to you.

Bianca James, 17, a legal citizen of the UK but I've been to so many different place that I barely remember what home felt like. 

You would think that I must be used to moving around but you couldn't be more wrong. Oh, how I hate new places! Just as you start adjusting, and making friends - yes, I take a long time making friends - everything is ripped away from you. 

Detroit, my new home. 

And no, I'm not ready for this.
