The Saxons.
The Saxons had come to sack Aine's village. Everyone had heard of the Saxons. These vicious men had beaten back by the Roman armies at first, but then news spread about more and more villages pillaged and its people massacred. Aine was hopeless.
The Saxons barged into the house. Aine mother suddenly said, "Take my amethyst ring and run. Run as quick as you can and ask the woodland fairies to save you. Don't look back." So Aine ran. She ran and ran, even though she heard the screams of her mother and father. She ran to the heart of the woods, trying to find the way to Fairyland. Two Saxons followed her, but she eventually lost them.
Aine shouted, "I am ready to be queen of Fairyland. Show me the way there." A cauldron appeared out of no where. "Get in," it said. Aine did not know how a grown person could fit in, but she stuck a foot in it anyway. Suddenly, she was shrinking and falling down a rainbow. The moment Aine recovered from the shock, she realised that she was in Fairyland!
A group of fairies flew towards Aine. "A pleasure to meet you, future queen. I am Lunalite, and this is Dreamlite, we are sisters. And this is Eliris, Lillius, Marena, Varaga, and Firania. We are the strongest of fairies through though the entire kingdom. Do you Aine of Briton, swear to rule over Fairyland until you die or disposal?" The question hung there. Aine hesitated a bit but answered, "I do. My first decisions queen is that you will call me Amethyst." After hearing all the fairies' names, Aine felt her name was as plain as porridge. She remembered the ring that her mother had given her by her last breath, that now lay on her finger. Also, Aine felt her life as Aine was over. She was now someone else entirely. She was Amethyst, eleventh queen of Fairyland.

From now on I am going to call Aine Amethyst. The picture I have above is from Paint By Numbers.
