Let the ranting begin! :)PS, I do not own any rights to Disney. Also remember that when I talk about"Disney Princesses,"  I'm not just referring to the official lineup, but to heroines as well.

If one more person comments on Ariel "changing for her man, I may just punch something.

It is a very cheap shot, and could not be farther from the truth.

If these people would take TWO MINUTES of their lives to listen  to Part of That World, they would learn that Ariel ALWAYS WANTED to be human. Eric was just the icing on the cake; the thing that finally convinced her to go for it. Plus Eric is amazing and I want to marry him.

But that is not the point. The point is that I don't understand why you people don't seem to remember the lyrics, "Wanna see 'em dancin', Walkin' around on those--whadya call 'em? Oh, feet!"

Now did she make the best decisions to get there? Not really. But she had great intentions and I for one think she learned her lesson as a character, even if the movie didn't make it obvious

(yes I treat characters like their own persons; got a problem?). One of the reasons she is my favorite is because she has a very Gryffindor attitude, in which she is on the border of brave and reckless. She follows her heart, and will do whatever it takes to reach her goals. It's who she is. Get over it.

Now did she leave her father and sisters in the process? Indeed. But don't we all in the end? Triton learned that he needed to be open to new ways of life and he needed to let go. That's why the movie didn't focus on Ariel' s mistakes with Ursula' s deal; it was meant to focus on her father's emotional arc.
~I hope I have enlightened the haters and satisfied the fellow nerds. Peace out.
