Frozen

I have no flipping idea on what to say about Frozen. I have really mixed feelings about it. Please don't hate me for what I say because even it's just not my favorite.

Let's start with something that I cannot blame the actual movie for: The Fandom.
The flipping Frozen fandom.

"Frozen is the first Disney movie..."

These make me so angry. Firstly, has this person REALLY seen every single Disney movie ever made? Animated and Live Action alike? Not likely.

Because there is a TON. I know that the fans who claim this are most likely referring to animated/ princess movies, but one of my pet peeves is people not using language precision. If you mean "animated princess movies", say "animated princess movies". Secondly, these claims are very rarely accurate. Many people have already pointed this out on the Internet, so I'm not even going to dwell on that. However, does a movie really need to be one of a kind to be a good movie? Frozen is a nice movie, but it's not like it needs to be completely unique, although that is always good. This is a generalization, I'm sure that not all of you are annoying like this. Some of my own followers are Frozen fans, and they seem like really cool people. It's good to have more than one movie that teaches these things, but there's no need to claim you are the first.

Another thing I'd like to point out is that I see a lot of love online for Elsa, (comparing her to Elphaba from Wicked, stories of being able to relate to her, etc.) but not a whole lot for Anna. It was my interpretation that the movie was about Anna's journey mainly. It was advertised to be about the sisters, but Elsa was more like the one to set up the conflict. If anything, she's no different than Aurora. And don't get me wrong, Elsa seems cool, and her journey seems fascinating. If I didn't think so I wouldn't write a boat load of Jelsa fanfiction. It's just that the movie seems to follow Anna more.

Next off...

Sven and Kristoff
Sven and Kristoff

Sven and Kristoff are the best and cutest characters of Frozen, in my opinion. Kristoff is sweet and sensitive, while still being strong and honest. And Sven is...just...Sven! I'll see if I can upload a video of Sven being wonderful. I swear, my dog is the embodiment of that reindeer. Is that weird? Can we also acknowledge that Sven was the one who made Kristoff go back to save Anna? He's a hero! :P

As for the overall movie, it's...good. The trolls are weird, Hans is a jerky character (nothing new there) and I don't even know why the Duke of Wesselton is there. I also found Elsa's character arc questionably unfinished.

I heard that in an early version of the story, the writers had planned to have a prophecy depicting an evil sorcerer casting an eternal winter. Honestly, I think that should've been included, because it would give the journey that Anna's taking a sense of urgency. You'll notice in the movie that everyone keeps saying "eternal winter", but who's to say that the cold won't stay and will thaw out naturally? It sort of takes away from the story.

I'm just not a big fan of the music either, other than Let it go and Frozen Heart (why do I never hear anything about FH? It's epic!). If you love it, good for you. I simply can't get into it. Don't let that stop you from making all your Let it Go parodies and Olaf drawings.

P.S., I actually really like the deleted song Life's Too Short. I feel like the two sister's argument brings up points about themselves and helps them learn about each other. Check it out.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Toodles.
