Cindy is another favorite of mine and I will defend her no matter what. Her, not the Prince. The Prince is boring.
First of all, Cinderella stays patient with her super horrible family, never complaining and always being optimistic. The reason that, "she didn't stand up for herself" is because she is a good person and, if she did, what would she do?
If you haven't noticed, Cinderella lives in a time where you don't have anything unless you or your family is wealthy; especially if you are a woman. If she left her stepmother, who is a Lady, she would probably only be able to get a job as a maid, where she would be no better off. Not to mention she'd be leaving her mice friends alone to face her stepsister' wrath. Plus, if you look closely, you will notice that Cindy has her little moments of snark towards her "family".
Basically, leave her alone. Her, not the Prince.
