•Teresa going to France of all places for an amazing art program and Rachel is just a mess and whines to all of her friends about it "ARIS, IT'S FRANCE. SHE'S IN PARIS. IT'S THE CITY OF LOVE. SHE'S GOING TO FIND A PRETTY BOY AND IM HERE STUCK WITH YOU" "gee thanks"

•Teresa sending Rachel snapchats of the Eiffel Tower ("Eiffel for u <3") and Rachel ignoring the pun and just replying with grumpy selfie ("u left me for a big piece of metal i don't see the appeal")

•Teresa and Rachel skyping a lot and talking about everything they did that day and really, it should be boring, but they don't run out of things to talk about and they crave each other's presence so much

•Teresa sending her pictures of her new room and how artsy it is and it looks so beautiful and Rachel is kind of just like "...is that a baguette used as a bookmark for your sketchpad are u kidding me" and Teresa is just like "....aesthetic"

•One night, after Rachel comes back from the shower, she finds Teresa still hasn't signed off and the video call is still going on, but she has fallen asleep. The city lights from outside her window are streaming in and sculpting her face with shadows and she looks so peaceful and there's a ghost of a smile on her face from when she was talking to Rachel and Rachel just stares at the screen with this "oh, shit" feeling because she may just be falling in love with her best friend.

•Teresa talking about how liberal her art school is and how open minded all the students are. She talks about how the school is really supportive of all the kids and really acknowledges their different identities and takes care of their needs and how everyone is so open about everything and it really made her explore the whole spectrum of how she identifies herself and talks about how she thinks she may be in the bi spectrum and Rachel is really supportive listens to her talk passionately about it over the phone and when Teresa's all talked out, Rachel tries to offhandedly ask "So, um...any girl catch your eye yet?" and Teresa just says, "Yeah, but she's pretty far away" and she doesn't know why she said that and kinda just clears her throat and changes the topic as Rachel freezes and tries to make sense of what her best friend just said.

•Rachel and Teresa gradually getting even more mushy and coupley and flirty, but none of them ever says anything because they're scared of things getting weird between them,especially with all that distance between them. There's just too much to risk.

•It's Teresa's 18th birthday and she goes out with some other girls from the art program and she's gets so shitfaced and she's such a lightweight. Her friends bring her back to apartment safe and sound. When Rachel checks her phone, there is 20-minute message from a very drunk Teresa explaining to her Why Teresa and Rachel Would Make the Best Power Couple, a 10-minute message of Rachel, Just Love Me Already You Fucking Idiot Because I Am So Fucking In Love With You and five minutes of her slurring things in really bad French.

•Rachel calls her immediately and Teresa has just woken up and is super hungover and Rachel is like "Do you remember calling me?" and Teresa is just like "I want to hide in a hole forever and just die there, what do you think" "That's a sweet way of saying you have feelings for me" and Teresa just gets all red and groans and buries her head into a pillow and mumbles something about living in France forever so she doesn't have to face Rachel and Rachel is laughing and telling her to calm down

•They don't talk about it again. Things return to their normal routine. But when Teresa comes home a month later, she sees Rachel in a stupid beret and a sign that says "TERESA AGNES, EIFFEL FOR U TOO" and grinning like such a fucking nerd and she sees Teresa, she just drops the sign and runs over to her and Teresa takes her in her arms and kisses her without hesitation and everything is perfect
