Y/n's POV:
"What did he want?" Jughead asked me as I walked back into the trailer.
"Wouldn't you like to know." I said, moving past him and into my room. I rummaged through my closet, looking for the perfect outfit. After a few minutes, I decided on a black band tee and my black ripped jean shorts for the outer layer. Underneath, I put on a black bikini top that crossed over at the bottom of the front and a matching bottom. I curled my hair in loose waves and opted against earrings, seeing as I didn't want to lose them in a quarry. A pool was bad enough. I slid a silver studded cropped leather jacket over my shoulders and made sure the clasp on my safety pin necklace was tight. As I neared the door of the bedroom, I slid on my heeled black boots and checked the time. 5:17. Still got a little more time.
I packed a small leather backpack with things I'd need to go swimming: a travel-sized towel, flip flops, and makeup for potential touch-ups. I walked quietly to the cheap door, trying to evade the gaze of Jughead who was frantically writing. "Who are you going out with?"
"What?" Play dumb. "I'm not going out with anyone." I bluffed.
"First, that's how you do your hair when you're going somewhere. And second, you're a terrible liar." Of course.
"None of your business." I crossed my arms.
He stood up. "Okay, since you won't tell me, you're grounded."
"What? You can't do that!" I yelled. "You're only eleven months older than me! You're not our dad or mom." He flinched, "And for the record, I'm going with Sweet Pea and the serpents."
"Not anymore, you're not."
I huffed back to my side of the bedroom and shouted, "This is so unfair!" Wow. Real mature. Once more, I wished there was a door to slam. I sat down on my bed and texted Sweet Pea.
Y/n: I may or may not be grounded. Meet you at the next block down?
There was a pause before I saw him typing.
Sweet Pea: got it 👍
A few minutes later, he texted.
Sweet Pea: i'm there
Y/n: On my way
I slowly crept towards my window. As quietly as I could, I undid the lock and slid the bottom half up. Grabbing my bag out from under my pillows, I climbed carefully, and very ungracefully might I add, out of the window and slid it down just enough that it appeared to be closed, but was able to be opened from the outside. I ran through the freshly cut grass in my leather boots to the next block over. Sure enough, there was Sweet Pea, waiting, leaned up against his bike. He stood once he saw me coming. "You look great." He said. I started my first date mental checklist. Compliments: check! He passed me my now designated helmet and I grabbed it saying, "Thanks. You do too." Of course he was wearing what he usually wore: a flannel muscle shirt, jeans, denim vest with a serpent crest. But he looked good in anything. And nothing I bet. I shook the thought out of my head, cringing at myself. I clicked on my helmet and straddled the bike behind him. We took off, flying through the streets, but because we had to go through the north side to get to Pop's we went slower than either of us would have liked.
I had no idea what I was going to say to him at Pop's. Between the trailer incident, school, and him and Toni earlier, I was speechless. I just couldn't read him. One minute he tried to kiss me, the next, he got all quiet. We pulled up to Pop's and hopped off the bike. After taking off both out helmets, and discreetly fixing our hair, we walked in and chose a booth on the left side. There weren't too many other people in Pop's. Only a few couples who went to Riverdale High who I didn't know, a couple adults, and Archie, Betty, and Veronica. Most chatter turned to whispers as a serpent and the weird Jones girl walked in. Eyes turned to us and pink rose to my cheeks. Sweet Pea, however, remained unfazed and continued walking to the far booth on the left side. I followed meekly behind him until we sat down across from each other. Behind us sat three girls, probably Cheryl's minions, though she wasn't there. The two of them that were on the side facing towards us were giggling at the raven haired boy as he sat down in front of me. The twirled their hair around their fingers and made googly eyes at him.
