Chapter 14: 360- degree angle

"You know each other?" Kirishima asked.
"Former..." Shuel clicked her tongue, "Former classmates- yes." Akira tensed up then took Eri down to the ice. She knew what was going to happen so no point in staying there.
"Well, we will leave you guys alone to catch up," Mina said and with that everyone left.
"What do you want?" Kowareta glared at her.
"Is that any way to greet an old friend?" Shuel raised an eyebrow.

"Hmph, but we're not friends, are we?"
"Yes, I suppose..." Shuel held our hand and looked at her nails then smirked, " So why aren't you on the ice?"
"None of your fucked up business," Kowareta was starting to get really irritated. 
"Let's have an ice skating battle, one on one" Shuel challenged her.
"Does it look like-" Kowareta stopped, thinking Shuel might think of her as a coward, "Fine, Let's do it!" 

Shuel went over to the administrator and whispered something in his ear. He nodded then told the skaters to clear the area. Everyone came back and asked Kowareta what happened, but she ignored them. She went into the change rooms and came out wearing black legging and wore a black shirt a little above her knees. She tied her hair back into a ponytail. Shuel's outfit changed its colour, her dress was now white, still embedded with diamonds and her leggings were white. The most shocking thing was, her hair was now white as well.

"Her quirk is Ice," Akira said. "If she uses it too much however her whole body freezes..." Shuel was the only one who knew about Kowareta's secret. There were bars like bars used in a gymnastics gymnasium. It was a race. 
The race was set out with three sections. The first stage was to step on floating platforms, the second was to dodge all the laser lights, and the third was the bars, (think of it like monkey bars but they were higher than the other one), they had to do all that while skating. This was more of an active type race, not the one that you had to be graceful in. 

A song was played in the background, "Heroes (We could be) by Alesso and Tove Lo" 

The race started and the room was divided into two sections, both of them had to stay in their territory or they will be eliminated. 

"Good luck, you'll need it" Shuel smirked. Kowareta raised an eyebrow, that meant something else. For some apparent reason, the platforms stayed still for Shuel but were moving furiously fast for Kowareta. 

"This bitch is cheating!" She realised when she saw one the girl's who was with her holding an iPad and signalling Shuel. Kowareta cleared her mind and took a deep breath in. She skated over and jumped on the first platform and it immediately started crumbling apart, she had to think fast and Shuel was already on the second stage. So she closed her eyes...
"Think, which one is going to be in front of me..." She opened her eyes and jumped and landed on another platform. Faster than a blink of an eye she made it to stage two. Seeing Shuel's face made her smirk. 

Laser lights. Again they stayed still for Shuel but Kowareta had an advantage at this point. She was extremely flexible, where Shuel was not. Kowareta bend down and dodged the first one and she began twisting her body into shapes no human body was meant to make, and just like that, easily made it through round two. Shuel and Kowareta were neck and neck now.  There was no way to cheat on this stage, no one had more advantage. Kowareta pressed a button on her phone and music connected to her earphones. She played one of her favourites...

"Sunflower by Post Malone and Swae Lee"

As soon as the song started playing she instantly jumped and grabbed the nearest bar at the same time as Shuel. She lifted her body and grabbed the second bar, swung her body at a 360-degree angle and grabbed the other bar. One of her hands slipped off the bar and she managed to hold on. She swung over to a higher bar, and there was only one more left. Both of them swung at the same time and landed on the floor at the same time. However, Shuel tripped and twisted her ankle which made it harder for her to land. Kowareta aced the landing, making her the winner.
