Chapter 8: Heroes on Both Sides.

The sight of Raxus was a sight for Sore eyes. Tobias looked at his planet with pride. It was almost a year since he had seen Raxus again. The Volunteer was celebration so loud, Tobias thought you would be able to hear it in Space. Tobias secretly wished that Pyrus could be there again. He was on the bridge contacting Mina Bonterri when they reached the orbit of Raxus. The Separatist fleet had increased its presence. 

"I have a lot to tell you. Mina." Tobias began. Mina had a smile on her. 

"I have no doubt of that Tobias. Just get down to the surface and tell me of it. You can also tell our guests." She said. 

"Guests?" Tobias asked. Since when did Mina have guests in her estate? 

"We have a visitor. My old friend: Padme Amidala." Mina answered. Tobias flinched a little. He knew Padme from years ago. He still recalled when Mina was mentoring Padme on Naboo. Tobias often saw the two talking about issues. And if what Mila said was true. Padme was also on Ando Prime around the same time that they were. The one who had supported Prince Korthos instead of Kaylee. But enough of that later. For now, Tobias and his troops were home.

The sight of the surface was too much to bear. Militia forcers got off the shuttles from the Volunteer. Tobias was getting ready to get on the transport to the Bonterri estate. 

"Coming, Fishbach?" Tobias asked. 

"No thanks, I've got someone I got to see." Fishbach answered. Tobias laughed. A genuine laugh. "Good luck with that." He replied. 

Galen had already gone to be with his mother and father. His father as it turns out was a senator in Parliament. There was much Galen wanted to speak to him about. That left just Tobias and Mila. Mila was ready to be back home. To eat on homemade meals, not the rations they had. To see Mina and Lux again. And to remember a time when life was so much simpler. 

"Now Mila. There's something I should tell you." Tobias said. 

"What?" Mila asked. "Mina told me to expect company." Tobias answered. 

"What kind of company?" Mila asked. Now she was confused. 

"Do you remember Padme Amidala?" Tobias asked. 

"The Senator I saw on Ando Prime?" Mila asked. 

"That's the one." Tobias answered. 

"What is she doing here?" Mila asked. 

"I'm not sure, but let's try to keep an open mind about this." Tobias answered. 

"I'll be good, at least I'll try to." Mila muttered.

Mina was sitting in the study talking to Padme about the recent proposal by the Republic to deregulate the banks. Padme had come to talk about peace negotiations. Mina was an old friend from years ago. If anybody could help her do something it was Mina Bonterri. 

"To peace then." Mina said. 

"To hope." Padme replied. 

They both clinked their glasses. Just then a maid interrupted them. 

"Excuse me my lady. Captain Chenko and Corporal Degonvich have arrived." 

A beam of pride had engulfed Mina. Even Padme looked happy. 

"Tobias is here?" Padme asked. 

"Of course, my dear. He's just returned from Dellalt." Mina answered. It had been years since Padme had seen Tobias. But she always viewed Tobias as a brother figure. Even if he was adopted. It would be great to see him again.
