Chapter 12: The Sleeping Giant

The next few months basically saw the Volunteer fighting in hit and run tactics. All trying to disrupt Republic ships and supply lines from trying to take Separatist planets. Dooku had tried to kidnap the Chancellor of the Republic with the aid of bounty hunters. This of course failed. Tobias didn't think that they would need their scum. But then another transmission came and this time it was another figure. Tobias had only seen his face once. But this looked different. It was a Separatist admiral, who was thought to be dead. The blue figure of a Harch: a humanoid spider like creature lay in front of Tobias. The only difference was that this time the Harch was a cyborg. 

"Captain Chenko. It is nice to make your acquaintance at last." The Admiral announced clicking his teeth together. 

"Admiral Trench. I thought you were dead at Christophsis." Tobias replied. 

"I almost died." Trench corrected. "It would not be the first time I have survived death." 

Tobias still looked at Trench. 

"I understand that the Volunteer and your meager fleet have been making hit and run tactics throughout the Galaxy." Trench started. 

"It's gotten slow but at least Mila's flying." Tobias replied. 

"Well good for Corporal Degonvich. I hope it's not of inconvenience to you Captain. But I am commandeering your fleet for my fleet." Trench announced. 

That caught Tobias off guard. 

"Commandeer my fleet?" Tobias asked. 

"Correct." Trench answered. "My fleet is making a stand on the planet of Ruusan. I need support on both a fleet ground and on the surface." He explained. 

"It must be pretty serious if you have to call us." Tobias replied. 

Trench nodded. "Unlike Grievous, I understand when the time is right to call reinforcements." He replied. "And who's the General? A Jedi?" Tobias asked. 

"No. A Ruusan human: Colonel Ryker Ozzix." Trench answered. 

"Never heard of him." Tobias replied. 

"Get to Ruusan as quick as you can." Trench ordered. The hologram faded.

Ruusan was a wide variety of a planet. It was also the planet where the ancient Sith Lord known as Darth Bane was from. The Separatists use to have a base in the Ruusan system but that was back in the early days of the Clone Wars. The Republic recently returned to Ruusan under the control of this General Ozzix. He told this to the other forces in his militia. 

"That's not fair. He'll have a homefield advantage." Fishbach complained. 

"Yeah, and we're fighting in a land and space battle." Tobias added. 

"So, what do we do?" Mila asked. 

"We fight in both." Tobias answered. 

"I thought you said we weren't splitting up after Umbara?" Mila asked. 

"Yeah, Captain." Fishbach said with a sarcastic tone. 

"We have no choice. Fishbach and I can lead the land battle. Trench can handle the space battle." Tobias answered. 

"Or we could use Kalani." Galen offered.

"He's a tactical droid." Mila protested. 

"A Super Tactical Droid built by me." Galen corrected. 

"Wait a minute, I have an idea." Fishbach offered. 

"I'll go with Kalani to the surface. You three stay here and defend the fleet with Trench." He explained.
