Chapter 11

"MOM", Sienna cried, her small feet moving as fast as they can towards her mother.

"What's wrong bub", Her mom asks eyes full of concern. She glances over her daughter looking for any injuries.

"Max keeps trying to tickle me", The young girl shouted in anguish. Her mother's face went from concern to annoyance in seconds.

"Why don't you go ask Dad what he has planned for today, and I'll go talk to Maxie okay", Mom told the 6 yr old.

Sienna nodded before skipping off into the house, her mother smiled after her before turning to her son that was slowly approaching with their dog.

"Max come here please", She called.

"Yeah mom", The 9 yr old asked.

"Your dad wants to go on a road trip, ok so you and your sister need to behave. Try to be civil, which means I don't want to hear any fighting", 

"We were just playing", Max groaned. His mom fixed him with a look, he sighed and walked into the house as well.

A couple minutes later

"Come on Steve I want to leave before traffic hits", Mom yelled. Footsteps were heard as Steve walked down the stairs Sienna clinging onto his leg. Max was walking behind them playing on his 3DS.

"Come on get off", Steve told his daughter. He playfully shook his leg making the young girl squeal in delight.

"Again, Again", She hollered once her father stopped shaking his leg. He shook his head before picking her up by her armpits. Her legs immediately wrapped around his waist as he started walking out the door.

"Max, get off that thing and come in the car", Mom yelled. 

Sienna watched as her brother ran over to the car, a smile immediately making its way onto her face.

"Maxie", She squealed.

"Hey CeCe", He said. She smiled wide and giggled at her brother, she played with his fingers as her father started the car. Her mom stared at them fondly.

"You guys excited", Dad asked.

"Yup", Sienna said swinging her feet.

"Not really", Max said honestly, Sienna laughed loud.

"Silly Max",

The family wagon hummed as the engine started, and the Arela family left the house. Sienna was singing a song she learned at school, Max was back playing his 3DS and the two parents were navigating.

"Are we there yet", Sienna asked as her song ended.

"Sweetie we just left the house", Mom told her.

"But I'm bored", She whined. Luckily mom was prepared, she handed her daughter a coloring book and some colored pencils she had gotten from the store.

"Why don't you color me a picture", Mom said. Sienna grinned and busied herself with the book. 

It was now night time and the family was still on the road, their destination was only 20 minutes away.

"Are we there yet", Sienna asked for like the 3000th time.

"Almost bub almost", Mom replied her eyes opened as she gave up on sleeping.

"Why don't we play a game", Mom said.

"What type of game", Steve asked suggestively. Mom rolled her eyes and slapped her husband's chest playfully. Max groaned in disgust, his parents were disgusting.

"We can play eye spy", Sienna shouted.

"It's too dark CeCe", Max said to his sister. She pouted, "But I wanna play I spy".

"We can try our best can't we Max", Dad had said. He huffed but looked around trying to find something nobody else would get.

"I spy with my little eye something silver", He announced. He looked over at his sister laughing as she looked under her car seat. 

"Is it the radio", Mom asked.

"Nope"

"How bout the mirror", 

"No"

"Your DS", Sienna asked.

"Nu-uh"

After a couple of guesses Mom finally got it right, it was her earring.

"I spy with my little eyes something...GREEN", Sienna told her family.

"Something green", Dad questioned.

"Yup"

The family looked around for something green in the car. There wasn't anything green in here.

Steve looked around, the car trying to find something green he just couldn't find it. Maybe they were looking in the wrong places.

"Steve...Steve LOOK OUT", Mom shouted. He quickly turned his head but it was too late, he looked just in time to see a huge truck slam into the car.

The car was pushed back into a tree. Sienna cried loud she wasn't necessarily hurt but she was scared.

"Max...Max", She cried looking to her brother for comfort.

"MAX, MAX WAKE UP PLEASE, I'M SCARED", She wailed loudly. He didn't budge, he didn't tell her that she was being too loud. HE just lied there.

"MOMMY, MOMMY MAX ISN'T WAKING UP", She yelled. She hurriedly unclipped herself only to find her legs were stuck under her father's chair. She was stuck.

"HELP", She yelled. She had heard noises coming from outside. Her family needed help.

She felt something on her wrist, she yelped as she thought it was a bug. 

"Max", She cried happily as her brother looked at her. There was something wrong, his eyes weren't filled with happiness or annoyance they looked dead, broken.

"CeCe, I-I love y-you", He told her. His hand squeezed her wrist before he closed his eyes, never to open them again.

She never cried so hard in her life as she figured out what had happened. Her family had died, and she was all alone.

She fought against her father's chair trying to free her legs. The relief she had when she was finally able to free her legs was short-lived.

She climbed into her brother's lap. Her chubby arms wrapped around his neck as she hugged him. 

"I Love you Maxie", She cried.

She hesitantly took off the necklace Max had won in a carnival, she waited for him to yell at her for touching his stuff but it never happened.

She shakily placed the necklace on her neck, she curled up in her brothers lap crying herself to sleep. 

That's how the police found her.
